Blazer Bash 2020 thoughts and updated info. See post 79

I did not post this to be a pity party for me. After reading it a couple more times, it looks that way.

My goal was to inform everybody about what was going on, so no one was shocked if everything goes in the dumper.

We are also looking at selling the t-shirts to the general public to recoup some costs. But this is only if the event is canceled by the government. I will not cancel it.

This is a CK5 event for members and their guests. And some lurkers. We would like to keep it that way. This is why we have not actively tried to engage the masses. Good group of guys who have fun together. I am going to do everything I can to make this work this year.

T-shirts and event decal have been designed. And look good. Thanks Scott.

Hell, even IF BB got cancelled, i’ll still be there. My cabin has been reserved since last year, and i’m already off for those days. I’ll just do hot laps up and down the street lol!

I do not want a refund. If it's cancelled I'd prefer it goes directly to the LLC/guys that makes this happen.

I'm still going. I have coil overs to smash around now lol

A big part of the reason Nicole and I decided to come this year is because we wanted to hang out with some good friends and people we know we will become friends with. It seems like a good time to be with like minded people you enjoy.

Agreed with everyone else on the registration fees. Compared to the cost of 2 weeks of vacation time (because time is money) as well as the fuel to get out there and back, campsite fees, and how about the cost to build the truck ;-) , the registration fees are chump change. Wade and Mark, y’all can keep mine regardless of the outcome of all of this. This Covid-19 stuff is a unique situation and much of it is out of our control. Thank you for your hard work to put all of this together. I know I am immensely grateful for even the opportunity to participate.

Stay positive (not for c19!) and hopefully we can still do BB.

There will be some nonsense hoops that we have to deal with, but we may not know until last minute what the status is

Until then, we are planning on going

I think the biggest thing we can all do to help is to be flexible and understanding. It's not the organizers that are coming up with this stuff; they're just having to deal with it and pass along the guidance.

City Parks director called back.

They do not have any answers as everybody are just canceling the events instead of working through them.

He had not heard of the Utah Covid-19 Event Planing Template put out by the state. Allows for larger groups than 50.

Masks are only required indoors and if social distancing can not happen.

I told him we were spreading out in the grass areas.

He is looking into what we need to do.

thanks Scott, Mark and Wade....you guys have been the backbone for the Bash! My appreciation from far away (regional distancing) is without limits!
I think we all understand that there may be circumstances beyond our control. I understand the hair pulling frustration and worry that comes from trying to put an event together, just not this magnitude with C19 being involved.
Thanks many times over for your efforts.

If you need any assistance from us locals, I'm sure we would be glad to help. @ashman @the_blaze @Drummingpeke @72gmck5 @Fullerton @kgblazerfive @Wicked Wolf Auto

just a suggestion for the bbq, catered? I mean if restaurants can serve take out, why couldn't they do so at the park? Manx club usually has Sat night dinner catered and is $15 a head.

Just going on record here Wade, no matter what happens I don't want any money back, and if costs go up, I would expect to pony up any extra fees necessary. This year has been a total sh!t show, I'm good with spending what is needed for some much needed time with friends.
