Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

Well I only had about an hour yesterday to work on the truck got the front spring mounts cleaned up and put on have to go buy some paint and a drill bit or two have to drill alot of holes in my frame so I want a new one. I got my other set of springs off my old frame piece so that I have my new shackles now going to get working on the cross member today because I can't put the springs in until I do. :D

Had a very long and busy day got a few things done

Got the front mounts all the way in have some bolt hole issues on the end of the frame PO cut it off so its a little short might be a pain to do the bumper /winch mount but I will have to see

Got the new motor mounts in and the cross member really nice, motor mount were a pain in the butt.

Got the rear spring mounts and shackles in

next is wire in my welder and clean the Dana 60 a little more then paint it and maybe my other stuff from DIY will be in so I can do some welding. Need to put in the front springs and shock mounts.

It was dark when I took the cross member pics so it really looks better then that.

You can sort of tell in the picture but my fuel line that goes comes from the tank is squished and worn through from hitting the crossmember, which is a problem that I had at the bash last year and fixed then.

Looking good. You are planning on going to BB right? If you need any wrench help, let me know. I am sure we can work it out in trade.

So I went to put in my front springs and did you know that 52's and 56's have diferent size bushing  yeah me neither so had to order new ones to replace my new ones that are 4 years old but have never been used

So when I get the new ones and figure out what I don't need look for them in the for sale section

I did get the 60 finished as far a grinder work still have to wire in my welder, have to go buy a breaker and that will be done. Then I can weld the tubes of the 60 and put on the shock mounts, when they get here, then it will be ready to go in. I really like my paint scheme going to look real good with the color of the truck.

I also got the 14 cleaned up all the way have to pull the axle's and stuff and put on the disc but that won't be bad.

I think the only thing left to pay for is getting my new four year old driveshafts lengthened. Have to see about brake lines not sure they fit the ford calipers and I need some for the rear and a new master cylinder maybe.

Your signature is getting shorter. Keep up the good work and I will be getting in touch next week for that bumper.

Did some work over the weekend but not too much did some grinding on the front axle had to grind the housing to fit the U-bolt, they are originally mounted upside down so they have a web in the way when you put them right side up

Now I know why you didnt tell me about this thread...a crush on Marie Osmond...that explains all those records you had in your bedroom growing up.:haha:

Yeah Ha Ha some secrets are better left untold,

Got my bushing from ORD today, but also have an eye infection so probably not going to get anything done

Got some work done yesterday and learned some things

56's can be found with a centered center pin
need longer shackels
I have a bent frame just a little where the front spring bolts to the rear, the shackel is crooked

Pull out the BFH and straighten it back out. How much of an effect does it really have on the springs and the way they line up?

Well used a BLP, big long pipe, and some heat got it alot straighter and bolted it together the truck is now sitting on it own weight. Its only about three inches taller then it was and it is soft, flexes all over the place got to make some shock mounts and do the steering box then should be good to go in the front end.
