budget beater - . . . HOLMES 220 single line boom wrecker install starting ..

so i got the trans and 203/205 doubler all buttoned up and ready to be set in today . wow i had a lot left to finalize on it than i had figured .

had to lengthen and readjust the shift linkage on the tripple shifter setup since i moved the mount farther forward .

had to swap the front output seal from the std size to the special size for the np208 pass drop front output flange swap size . you use a timken 473457 seal then a np208 pass side drop front c/v 4 bolt flange unit on the swapped in 32 spline front output . makes it all work together nice and good . my used c/v flange i got from @imiceman44 had a bit of seal area wear so i got a timken kwk99187 speedi repair sleeve . also used red locktight on the speedi sleeve .imiceman44 took care of me and we are good . no problems with his parts .

then i had asked in the garage last week or so about what shaft i should use for the rear output . i had 1350 parts for the most part but had some 1410 parts . so trying to stay with the name of this truck i said screw it its low lift and 33"-35" tire range if i ever swap from the 33" tires i figured use my 1350 parts and just have my spicer 1350 shaft re-tubed .

but i am ready to drop this part and the engine back in the frame for good .

so i ordered a few parts tonight .

msd - 8360 small cap ready to run dist .
msd - 31229 wire set 8.5mm cut to fit .
msd - 82131 vertical mount coil bracket .
msd - 82023 blaster 2 black coil .

thats $499.89 from summit all new .

i scored the dist as a motor broke in use only take out off evilbay .
then the wires off evilbay new in box .
ordered the coil / bracket / new black cap / wire terminal die set to go with my msd crimpers i have and saved money and got what i wanted and more .

total saving cost $ 328.68 to my door .

thats $171.21 saved .

not much more than the other stuff i was looking at but its MSD quality .
 
wow been busy with house redo jobs and finally had a few hr's tonight to scuff off the heavy rust and brush on some more black paint on bumper brackets for the front and plow frame mount setup and cucv brush guard .

finally figured out why the paint wasnt sticking in some almost bare metal areas . . . leave on some of the rust . . . i am just gooping the stuff with a cheep 1 dollar brush and out of a 1qrt can of semi gloss rustolium . its a beater and a plow truck it wont last anyway .

anyway waiting for the last few ordered items to arive from shipping delays and far away orderes . then its game on for final parts on before cab set down and bolt up .

Yeah they say remove rust scales and paint over surface rust for a better bond.
