super nasty rust spots i was trying to avoid . just the left rail . and it weighed a bit less than the right side chunk . have to get the scale out and see.

Makes sense now. Always wanted to take a nice 2wd and swap to 4x4 the way gm did.

reason the springs are at 50" center to center is its a dana 70 from a 79 g30 motor home. had 40k miles 4.10 open diff.

end of the road for this old girl today . the time had come to part this out and use the parts to make the budget beater a 4x4 from its 2wd first half of its life .
not using frame / transfer case / exhaust / flatbed / sheet metal . the rest will go in the frame i just made std cab length and then when rolling and loaded it will be covered with the body of the 2wd .

I didn't expect that!!! I didn't know that truck was getting too bad to go on.
look at rear of frame in side shot pic before torn apart . the rear hanger flip bracket is were the factory bump stop would be . few years ago i took 35-40 inch off the back cause it was shot .
now the body is shot in a few key places . she had a newish body put on her around 12 years ago . frame is a 79 k30 c&c truck .

Sure wish that I could have sent you the frame from my old '79 K30 3 years ago, instead of sending it to the crusher. It would have been better to use in a salt country than whatever it got turned into.
taking 33" out of the extra crew cab frame removed the bad spot and got me a clean frame for this now.
so thanks and wish i could stock pile a few frames . but is what it is . if i finish all my trucks i should be good till i cant drive anymore.

there going to look SEXY AS HELL on stock rims and hub caps .

felt crappy all day yesterday so i didnt do anything after work .
but today i feelt a bit better so i made the frame a bit more normal by adding a few items.
i just hope my pinion angle wont be to hard to fix .
