shady submitted a new Build:

Burnt burb resurrection

Alright heres the start of my 88 grand luxe burb rebuild. I'm a pic whore so there will be alot of them. As you can see its a great base to start with. this will be a DD/towrig. Main plans are (in basic order)

Repair all fire damage and clean up the engine compartment along the way.

Remove the fiberglass runners and fix any rust that has started ANYWHERE I can find it. Then get it all coated n protected cause I'm gonna have this one for a long time.

Once I see how she rides I'll decide what to do for a 4" lift. (52's or springs for front, flip kit or springs for the back??) I want it to ride like a caddy and still be able to tow a 6-7000 pound trailer comfortably.
May be an air spring system coming:rolleyes:

33's or metric 34's on 17-18" rims. Maybe rallys with rings, I havent figured that out yet.

Then eventually paint it. It looks good but I can do a better color/color combo.

I found an 88 dually that may become mt doner. I'll let you know thursday. If I get that I'll be getting the burb runnin pretty quik

I got the 88 crewcab dually today. tbi454 runs great. I think i'm gonna DD it for now till it warms up. I'll have to check out the local truck bone yard for the stuff needed for the burb. Or wait till spring and take all the stuff I need off the crewcab. Its only gonna need the bare essentials anyway. weather permitting I'll have the burb home tommorro and i'll get a bunch of pics under the hood. I should be able to start taking bad parts out this weekend and get a better idea of what i need.

I got the parts doner/future truggy. home but I couldnt get the burb home:confused: Oh well heres some pics of the crew. $2180 out the door. It has the label in the glove box for proper permanent camper mounting. Does that mean its a camper special???

Well I got it home now. but I cant get the hood open. the cable is burnt and melted under the hood. any suggestions on how to open it

I'd Search this issue. Theres are ways, but hte easiest involve breaking the grill.

Have you had a partner hold the release handle back while you pound the hell out of the top and front of the hood with your fist? Sometimes the latches just stick.....

unfortunetly i broke the grill already.:doah: but here is a pick of what it looks like through the grill notice the fraying.
