Burnt burb resurrection (It's mine again!)

why thank you adam:thumb: it came out almost exactly as I had pictured in my head:woot: I have some accent lights to add and a duct to make for the amp fans then the main upper console is will be done. the lower portion with the amp on it is gonna be a bit cause I have to lay all the wires in and finish mounting it to the floor more solid.

I would have made the top wooden piece hang over the cup holders, and cut holes in it. The plastic up holders look out of place.

I was looking at ways to do that. but I like the adjustability of the ones I got. in order to get large fast food cups in the hole has to be big around. then 20oz's flop all over and cans slide around:dunno: they look better cleaned up and in person. they've been thrown around the porch/work shop for a while and multi megapixles show EVERYTHING:doah:

that looks great Rick...nicely done man!

Hey looks like those seats are wearing well with that cloth...those are the conversion seats not factory velour right?

I dunno:dunno: I figured factory. they only have one real small spot bad but they'll be destroyed in short order. once a rip starts yer screwed. they also have a neat ganster lean to the foam. this one WAS the driver seat. I swapped side to side so they should wear for a while yet.

1) Did the burbs/blazers come with arm rests on the seats?
2) I was thinking the fabric was only avail in velour/vinyl, not a cloth as you have. I was thinking those seats (at least the fabric) was from the conversion?

I think for my CC I want cloth, not vinyl or leather, but I'm not a big fan of the velour look either.

they feel like velour, not sure about the conversion thing ??? I cant stand vinyl seats. I deffinately want material of some kind. I'm going to ask the upolstery shop here in town what it would cost with a few diff material choices and see:dunno: I may do one seat at a time or something

That looks like a stock seat to me.

Not sure about the armrests though. My '89 K5 didn't have them and it was a Silverado.

Those are stock seats. Suburbans got arm rests, Blazers did not.

Didn't know that.

And....sucks for you blazer guys :haha:

I took my worn stock arm rest apart, added some wakeboard binding footbed foam, and now they are all cushy again :D

Mine in my 1989 GMC Suburban are way too low to be of any use, padded or not.

I tried to get mine apart to add foam......:dunno: no zipper or nothing:confused: i cant figure out how they go on and off????

i pulled the material out near the arm rest and it looks like theres a bolt in there that mounts it. I'm gonna see it it comes off... we'll see:dunno:

They are essentially hooked over the end. Picture a sock from teh front, wiht a long plastic hook thing on the back.

Start pulling apart from the very back, nearest the seat. It just unhooks and then you can slide it off hte front :thumb:

I'm far from an interiors expert, and figured it out pretty quick . good luck!

I also Rick, I found that riding in a vinyl/leather seat for thousands of miles will result in swampass....suppose I could try some Monkey butt powder, but didn't want Kert to catch me powdering my ass.:haha:

The ones in my 99 are too narrow for me to have any use for them....as my girth is beyond the engineers design parameters for using them evidently.

:haha::haha::haha: .... Mine fit me great but arent really needed after the console install:rolleyes: Im still doing a padded top for it.

Hence the reason for heated/ COOLED seats in my Escalade.
I've been contemplating a newer style seat swap:thinking: Not sure if any of them would look right in there though:dunno:

As for the console. I got the base plate mounted permanently. Got some of my wires run and finished. And have Come up with a slight change in the design by the dash. More on that to come
