Calling all Texas Folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Update- Post up so we can reserve spots.

It shows taking 35 to waco but it seems like it would be faster to take 45 out of round rock but I'm not sure yet.
Hey Hunterguy86, I don't know if you've done some more route planning, but 45 is the interstate that runs north/south between dallas and houston. The road you're looking at that runs NE out of Round Rock, through Hearne, and up to Jacksonville is 79. If you take 79, you actually cross 45 in Buffalo. 79 is mostly a 2 lane hwy with tons of little speed trap towns with stop lights all along the way. (Hutto, Taylor, Rockdale, Milano, Hearne, etc.)

yea miscommunication....im 99% sure ill be goin for the truck rodeo...is nick goin or he may be deployed by then or what? you towin ur truck or drivin it?

Hey Mickey,

I think Nick is going to try and have his rig ready. If not, he'll ride shot gun. I only have the option to drive it there. I don't have towing abilities. Glad you're going (hopefully). I think this will be my trucks debut!

I really haven't done much planning as of yet. I will probably take 35 to waco and then head out from there.

i am definately going. you can add me to the list. me and my girlfreind so two people i guess and we would probably tent it out or sleep in the truck? dont know yet bit were there dude!

man that looks like that is going to be kickass. I wish i could go but thats about 500 miles from lubbock and my k5 is my daily driver, thats a lot of go go juice. I like the idea of setting up a texas style blazer bash. Maybe this summer we could set one up that is a little more central texas, like katemcy or someting? just a thought. One of these days i will make it up to moab for blazer bash...

Hey you can count me in. I'll be there. I'll be doing trails with Hunterguy86 and if I'm lucky and can get some tires I'll do the mud bog with you Manny.

Hey Y'all,

Got a message from Shiloh Ridge today. There are only water hook-ups available. All electrical hook-ups have been reserved. Water is going fast so tomorrow, it is my intent to reserve 30 spots. Each spot will be $30.00 for the weekend. There is no deposit necessary. If we don't need the spot, we can surrender it without penalty.

When I contact them, I will get particulars about gas, food, rules, etc. I'm working for y'all. Just be patient!

Also, we need to get cities from everyone to help build caravan's. Even if it's only 2 trucks per convoy. This is to insure everyone arriving safely and that no one gets stranded anywhere for any reason. It's the buddy system. Let's work together as a team, get MUDDY, get STUCK, laugh, and have a memorable weekend!

Thanks,

Manny

Well I will be leavin from Humble so anyone in the Houston area leavin that friday can jion me. I'll be taking Highway59 to 1314 to Highway 45, then exit onto 79 in Buffalo, take 79 till it runs into 84 in Palestine then fallow that to rusk.

Then guys coming from west of Houston like San Antonio it would be best to take 35 to waco then hit 84 to Rusk. It will be alot quicker then going up 79 or 290

Count me in for 2 spots. I'm guessing that since electricity is all gone, generators are o.k.

Id love to go in my blazer. But im not sure if ill have a engine ready by then. And i have no idea if my tranny is good or not right now. I got a long list of things to get done to make mine wheelable. I havent even wheeled my one tons yet! Even if i was wheelable, i wouldnt drive there, id need a tow most deffinatly.

I might be able to go and ride along with you guys tho.

Hey Manny! Need a spotter?!?!? :D

i just want to let yall know that you dont really need water. what are you going to do with it? they have showers, toilets, and even a spot to wash off you vehicle before you leave. i dont see a point in reserving THIRTY water hookups...id save those for the folks with RVs and ****....ive gotten water and elecricity the last 3 times ive went out there and i used the water to brush my teeth i n the morning and the outlet to run a small lantern thing...that cost me 30 bucks....just a thought....

Is that place better than Gilmer?

I can only say that the MUD at Shiloh is the Bog! I don't know about Gilmer. They do have rocks to crawl at Shiloh, but I won't be on them. Maybe some of the other dude's will chime in.

C'mon along Leper! You are most welcome to join us!
