carps 89 K5 build (how not to put a k5 on a trailer)

will do man. Truck is riding pretty damn smooth. Never would have thought the airsoft pellets would balance like that. Also, since i'm gonna be running a CV rear shaft now, does that mean I can pretty much just point the rear pinion at the transfer case and not have to worry about the angle?

Got my SYE in a few days ago and finally got my CV rear in today! It looks strong and can't wait to tear into my Tcase and get it hooked up!

also got my remote trans filter kit and gauge in from Summit. Gonna see how far I can get Sunday. Don't know how long the SYE should take but it doesn't seem that complex

Have a question to anybody thats done the SYE: Read in the instructions that you're supposed to remove the needle bearings in the main sprocket. Are these pretty hard to remove?

I bought the trans filter kit from Summit for 83 bucks. It came with filter, gauge, hose, bracket, fittings, everything you need supposedly. Well, I was just wondering about the needle bearings cuz it said to press them off and leave them off per New Venture Gear recommend. I don't have a press but might have to get inventive with my high lift jack again :D

me and my buddy at work did the SYE on my 241 at work yesterday but I think there might be a problem. we did it step by step and know that's right, but there's a problem. Either the shaft is too short or the flange yoke I got from HAD is too long. Thinking the flange yoke might be too long. Check it out

The flange that Jesse sells must be modified to work on the SYE for a 241 case. He would have done it if he knew that's what you were using it on. If he did know then he must have forgot to modify it.

what do you mean by play in the shaft?

im doin a sye on my k5 as well, how did you order the shaft at the same time as the sye w/o measuring once the sye was on the truck? id like to do the same thing (get the shaft done while doing the sye so theres no down time)

I asked Jesse at HAD the same question. You measure from where the case halfs meet and from there he knows how long to make the shaft cuz all 241s will be the same length from there back with the SYE

yea thats what i thought. could you measure your shaft for me (compressed/extended)? ive already got a 1350cv shaft, but im likely gona need it lengthened cuz its off another vehicle. are you using the stock wheelbase or did you move the rear axle back any?
