Are you going to put it back on? It's a neat piece, I like how you modified it into a winch bumper. :waytogo:

Thanks, no it sticks out to far for the kind of wheeling I do. I like how it looks but it isn't very functional for me.

I finally got some aluminum bead locks. I didn't want steel DIY ones this time. I have never been able to get the steel ones to balance very good. I have had my eye on these American Eagle/Trail Ready ones for awhile but they haven't been available until recently.

I've been eyeballing those wheels. Let us know how you like them.

Sweet!

What is involved in cutting down the chains?

You just have to take the cross links out or add some until they fit. This set I had to take some out. Then you just cut the chain to the length needed. Pics might explain better. This is what I took off each chain.

Nice, where is a good place to pick up truck chains?

I would search online, be prepared. They aren't cheap. I lucked out, I'm a diesel mechanic and these two sets have been sitting on one of our shelves for about 7 years. I was curious if they would fit, they obviously didn't but we have made chains fit custom applications before. The width was right so I knew I could make them fit. I got lucky and the boss said Merry Christmas.
