I just laid my ass on the ground to look, it's the bottom bolt.
I may have been thinking of when I clock the Tcase, then I'll be bending the rod and moving it to the middle bolt.

The last engine was a SUPER tired 350 with more than it's share of PO problems. My 400 is getting better but is still pretty mild right now. I haven't had time to pull the dizzy and change the timing springs or stops. The carb is way off still too, I think it's rich, but I'm completely lost as far as that goes.
I picked up an O2 sensor to put in my driver side header (it is plugged right now). Then I can read it with my multimeter and see where I stand. I might also drop the cash and have it dyno tuned by a local place. Not sure yet.
The motor has 500 miles on it. It wont move for a while. It needs more work before I drive it again, like ceramic coating header and y pipe, smog stuff etc etc.
Ahh i see. Well I will be asking you lots of questions seeing that you have the same setup as me lol. I dont need any of the smog stuff so im good to go their. Im also not doing much to my 408. Just a little bit of a cam and roller rockers. Hoping it makes at least enough power to spin the tires lol. The 305 cant even squeek em

Actually it wasnt too bad at all. I am really glad I decided to take the cone thing off as well (idk the technical term lol) because If I hadnt their is no way I could have gotten that little spring and the keeper installed correctly by myself. I was able to reach in the hole and line it up and slide it in without messing any of the gasket maker up. Its not leaking as of yet so im pretty happy. Also Being by myself it made it easier not having to lift the whole tcase up and down and messing with jacks and what not.
Also an update on those headers, after I put the grill paint on them and let them dry for 5 hours i barely touched them and the paint kinda peeled off!!! I cleaned them up really good after blasting with some cleaner, but idk the paint doesnt want to stick. Plus I really liked the silver look of them so I think I will reblast them and find some silver header paint.
And if somebody makes a comment about the spring process above lol. Ima be pissed haha. Get your heads out the gutter lol.
don't waste your time with the 500* paint, find some 1200-1500* paint from an auto store. My 500* paint turned white on my Y pipe.
Who makes a good header paint? I know i used that high temp paint from auto zone once on the vans exhaust and it also turned white after a few hours. I want a nice dull silver that wont chip when you rub your finger nail on it lol.

Summer/ (when the snows gone and i can get my van out) things to do.
-Remove Grill, Fenders, Hood, sandblast down and undercoat and paint.
-Repair rust
-Sand down frame/paint
-Undercoat entire truck
-Run new exhaust
-Hook up rear glass/ make sure tailgate works good.
-Remove valve covers, intake, carb… Clean up and paint engine area.
-Water pump
-U Joints
-Hopefully trade for a more efficient carb/intake setup.
-Brake lines

-Undercoating $8 per can (2)

-Herculiner if necessary $30/ quart

are you making the exhaust? I dropped about $900k on my exhaust. This includes the flowie, cat, collector, and labor for a custom Y pipe and single ran tubing. Does not include the edelbrock headers.
I got that set of headers for free, and yes I will be doing it myself. Thats why I bought the welder and bender. Bender wont work though, but I got a guy that will bend me up all my fittings. I have so many good connections its not even funny!!! lol.
Exhaust work is easy in my opinion, if you have the right tools for it. I think its fun. And if I can weld the pipe first then put it in I should be able to make it look pretty good.

I think we are going to have to start a new statistic for you. In your statistics, between the total post and visitor messages section, we need to add an LOL section. Along with total posts and posts/day, we will then have Total LOLs and average LOLs/post.
