And also, i doubt you will ever notice the difference in the lower energy of the premium fuel and it can prevent detonation when you have a hot engine at low RPM in low load with a lot of timing. If you don't need it, its a waste of money, but I doubt you will ever notice the power loss, its is extremely minimal. You could run more timing with premium fuel, but it may not make any more power if the engine doesn't need any more timing. I would say with the way you use your truck, you might be a little safer using the premium, especially after what just happened.
I would agree. I just like to tell people that, because so many people think higher octane fuel increases your horsepower. It does no such thing. It only allows you to modify your engine in ways that will let it take advantage of the extra octane.
WAY too many people still think adding some 110 to their bone stock engine makes it run better......
