Hard Top ??
I am disappointed in you Adam, you dont have some amazingly built weird contraption to lift it so it can just be dropped back on.![]()
Ya know back in the day some of us would just pick it up ourselves and put it on.

Really I'm actually surprised you haven't bent up some awesome filler panels for the top sections of your cage for sun shade. Seems like a great place to add metal being out in the sun 90% of the time.
I keep telling myself I’ll make it cool.
And then every time I turn around someone wants to pay me to make some stuff for them and then blazer just keeps getting put off, because of course I’m going to take the money lol.
You just have to really love doing it.Be careful. That is how a hobby turns into a business, then the hobby is no longer fun because of the business. I've done that 3 times.
Mine works out great to be the same thing. I'm really good as a mechanic and I love it and would NEVER want to do anything else. Plus I also love it as a hobby. I'm lucky to have a career/job I love.Do what you are good at for employment. Do what you love as a hobby.

Same here, I turn wrenches all day then go home and do it more. Thankfully I enjoy it!
You mean a hood?Does this even have sand in the cab anymore?
I will clarify.
I know Truckman is employed by a company, I do not know what 78K30s work situation is. Being employed as a mechanic is way different that running a business. Which is what Adam is now doing as a side gig. When you have to order, inventory, build, bill and deal with customer happiness as a single person doing it all, can get overwhelming. Right now Adam is doing his hobby as a side job for extra cash and to get his name out. He hopefully is living off of his real job income, which has a little cross over into his side stuff, but not much. If he were to quit his day job today to just concentrate on the fab stuff, the stress would be much higher.
Adam is being smart about this and not overextending himself financially. He has the best of everything right now. Low overhead, time, a girly friend who likes the same stuff he does. A dad who supports him and a good friend with a nice place to work.
Adam, stay is this situation as long as time will allow. Put money away for the house and shop and keep up the excellent work. It will pay off big time.
Just 2 cents from an old guy who has been there, done that. I like not having a real job. Christmas for a week at Lake Havasu, 2 weeks in Az and Ca for KOH. Maybe, big maybe, 1 week for dune fest. 1.5 weeks for Blazer Bash.
