Recently installed this setup in my 1991 blazer with a 454 swap. Plug and play super easy install. Just needed a better fuel pump. Also wtf why didn't they include spark plug wires and coil? It wouldn't have killed em

I see that you found this thread, I probably wouldn't know how to post a link for you anyway!

A true Walbro 255 pump is $52 now (from Walbro) and can feed 500-550hp safely. If you need more pump then go with the Walbro 450. It requires slight modification but still easy to install. You'll need to use a relay with either one if its in the tank. For a coil, stick with the MSD Blaster 2 or Blaster 3. Make sure to download the latest instructions since they have changed and the coil info in the old instructions is WRONG along with updated FP relay wiring diagram.

Don't forget the install kit which is like $11

Latest Version of instructions here. 3 sticky threads at the top.

I bought the Walbro-GSS342 on Amazon for $52.81. Came in an unsealed bag with mineral spirits. Awesome. Where do you get the install kit for $11.00? It's going in the 87 K5 tank.

Is the relay the one used on the TBI units that mount on the firewall or are you talking about a different relay?

I think @6872xtc used the TBi one
I used the $10 special from vato zone

Yes, I used the TBI relay since it was already wired back to the tank. This also made it possible for the Proflo ECM to control the ground since the pump is grounded in the '90 TBI tank.

Yep you found the install kit. I did my own custom relay in the back and used the diagram off the install instructions. The ECU ground wire triggers my relay. They said you must use a relay if its in the tank.

so on a NON pro flo 4 related call to edelbrock tech today we got on the efi subject and how happy i was with my pro flo 4 over the holley sniper unit . he said the last few weeks they get 4-5 calls a week on them and can you help me tune it and figure it out and they have to tell them sorry we are EDELBROCK not HOLLEY :doah:

i guess the snipers have been having a lot more problems but i dont watch the info boards on them anymore .

and the tech guy said the reason they stopped the carb replacement efi type units was to many problems and to much bad they just couldn't fix so they stopped the production / parts and focused on the full efi stuff and its been doing so much better for them .

my unit is still doing great and good mpg over the sniper and purring great . flagwaver

I gotta agree with you, my pro flo is pretty legit so far. Only issue I've had was too much fuel and I called edelbrock and they walked me through resetting the fuel trim. Easy fix an fast service

nate s talked real breefly in a thread and someone else posted this ad on there in a thread .

i knew you would be all over this . :saweet:

there is a guy over there doing E85 and 80 lb injectors and 525 lph walboro pump on his own . nate s said there about ready with the boost update to add the same injectors the guys is using on there update list of options . 60 lb units now can do around 725hp if i recall . the 80 lb units will be near 900-950 hp i think they said with reg gas .

Good to hear. I saw that e85 thread. I wouldn't mind being able to run e85. It's much cheaper than higher octane pump gas but it normally requires a custom tune and starting tables. When I was going to run the turbos on the K5 I went a little extreme and got 240 lb injectors before I went to the PF4 system. They actually idle really nice when I ran them on my old race car. Looking forward to the new system.
