Euzoa's (re)build and rant

Haven't been arround much, but the bed armor seems to be holding up pretty well, a few small chips where my metal tool box bounced and slammed a bit, but otherwise it seems to be pretty nice.

Went out with some friends and tore through some corn fields (only a couple had corn off) My buddys little brother took some pics, but was bouncing arround to much to get moving ones(below). One truck (white SB 1500 sport[used to be mine]) overheated, the purple yota got a wet clutch, and i just got pretty hot. Should be going back out within the next month I will try to get better pictures next time

edit: I for got to mention the white truck had a 2 year old that was having a riot, until he fell asleep that is

Holding up great, fits right in with the patch on the otherside too. Today we played car tetris, getting the areas my buddy plows cleaned out, Only smashed my turn signal on the monte (been sitting 4 years, no brakes) and the parts truck we moved smashed the lakers licence plate holder when i was pushing it with the rear bumper (real loss, would be gone already if i wasn't lazy)

Shamefully, my Salvage title mixed with lazyness has led to my registration expiring, now i have to wait to have an anti theft inspection for NY. So i put the tires from the Jimmy on the 65 and I'm going to run that old girl in the snow till the jimmy is back on the road. The jimmy looks terrible with 4 tiny different size rollers on it (all we could find that would fit)

DOH!

Can't say too much actually, gotta take my stuff in tomorrow and rereg it.

They jimmy is back on the road! Just in time for the first snowfall to stick too.

This weekend assuming i can get a die grinder I am going to port and polish a spare set of heads and intake, hopefully get them installed too. Might as well do it on my time since one of my head gaskets seems to have a weep anyway.

After that, assuming I can start my new job (security supervisor at a hospital, but they are jerking me around), I will do a tbi rebuild and see what happens after that.

So, I've been here but not posting much lately, work is driving me nuts. My wifes car decided to go nuts this week, and I had to drive the Jimmy in to work.

When i pulled in the drive tonight I heard a loud POP from under the truck and she started steering a little funny. I got under her to take a look and wouldnt you know, the frame cracked, right by the steering box.

Add that to the fact that i havent been able to replace my heads yet, one of my hubs doesnt always like to engage and i feel like i got myself a real winner.

I'm only a little discouraged though...

Fook that man! All easy stuff to fix! If you dont know how to weld, Im sure theres a member out there somewhere willing to help :waytogo:

I'm ordering the ORD patch and brace kit today...If I can figure out what's actually wrong with my wifes car. I'm also going to order a tbi rebuild kit and a few other things.

I also believe my front and rear axles are geared differently, from the way she was acting this winter going between slush and dry pavement, but i havent had a chance to check

Between slush and dry pavement...what was it doing?

honestly it felt like the rear was trying to pass the front, got wobbly, steering was way off... I also need to rebuild to tcase, pretty sure she is dry...

Wobbly could very well be related to your frame/steering box issue.

I don't think you're dumb but I know you've wheeled it before and you'd have noticed something like mismatched gears even in sand and mud. Also, 4x4 on dry pavement is a no-no. That will cause binding and odd actions from the drivetrain with a perfectly functioning set of axles, t-case, suspension, etc.

I know that! but when it goes slush, salted spot slush salted spot, and the truck goes sideways if it isnt in 4 wheel at one in the morning....

Tires. All in the tires.

Still, this doesn't quite sound like mismatched gears to me.

So i ordered the ORD frame repair and brace kit, a TBI rebuild kit, next paycheck I will order my Tcase rebuild kit...Having 20 hrs of overtime this week has done wonders for my cash flow.

When i order the rebuild kit should I get a new chain as well? It doesnt come with it on rockauto...

I would since you're in there. Suck to be a while down the road and start having issues from it.
