First Gen, all hardware no software

So I bought this '70 K5 and fell in the rabbit hole ever since. It was tired, a victim of someone's "perfume on a pig" restoration. Original 350/350.Paint is nice.
Dove in head first yesterday. Using this time to even out some stuff and fix some of the not so clean lookin stuff. Also scored some Vac hose and cowl sprayers so I'll finally have wiper washers. This is a good time since the hood is off. Also got tracking from jet-hot so my headers should be here in a couple days!

Little before and after engine bay. The jet- hot coated headers came out nice. Borgeson u joints were utilized for clearance through. Still searching for a molded rubber mip floor for the interior. Should be ready to fire in the next day or so

Oh here's the problem.... So it leaks directly past the oil pan gasket under the cam cover. Evidently this pan requires the "thick" front cover gasket and the felpro one piece is not

I thought that fel-pro made both thick and thin front section versions of the one piece gasket, maybe my memory is off.
I belive the thicker would be for the post 79 pan with drivers side dip stick from what I could find. I ordered #3001 gasket set from hamburger oil pans. There's a *note that apparently using anything but could cause "irreparable damage to the pan" I don't see how that's even possible but I hope I haven't

Also, afaik, the fel pro one piece has dipstick provisions on both sides.

I've seen those but the ones I've been getting for the early 010 block are all driver only. Hopefully this 4 pc I have coming and some carefully place "right stuff" should finally remedy this issue

7.3L powerstrokes run only silicone for a pan gasket. You literally take one of those Right Stuff kits with the two half size caulk tubes and you stack that shit 1/2" high on the sides and like 3/4" high on the ends then install it and let it dry. Screw the gasket, glue that shit on! Oh and there's a cool cutter tool you use with a hammer in order to remove a 7.3L pan also.

Still marks it's spot! Runs OK in neutral. Terrible under load around the block.
The fitech of course is my first suspect but mainly bc I'm not getting any response from the ecu as stated at the handheld. May be running in a general tune map and not actually functioning:dunno:

I'm ready to try the Holley sniper...

OK so after pulling the game out and blowing hot breath in it like a Nintendo I got the ecu to Comunidad.
Now it definitely seems to respond to this engine with correct comp #s and no blow by much better from idle to throttle response. Not under load that is.
A quick pull down a country road n she's still popping and sputtering. A lot of misfiring so I'll have to bull the cap n check the rotor and contact points. It's a Davis unified hei "dui" unit but after sitting maybe it's corroded? I dunno it just seems like ignition issues to me.
Oh I warshed er too!
