GsxrMike's build thread...Frostbite 2011 Pictures are in!

Before and After!

Here are some pics of before and after my tire install. I went mudding after I got them on but it got dark so I couldn't get any good pics. As it turns out I am going to need to trim some metal.

Well the zero rate moved it 1.5" from where it was at with the 52" springs. But I don't know how far forward it is in relation to a stock truck. Thanks for all of the comments guys. This is my first build and it feels really good to be able to drive something I have put so much work into. It feels even better to prove my wife wrong because she said it would never run again.:haha:

Here is another pic...

Here is a picture of her all muddy. I parked her out in the rain today to try and wash some of it off. I wan't to go to my buddy's house because he has about 80 acres with a bunch of trails but my blower isn't running and my windshield fogs up. Guess I will have to see whats up with that. I parked her with the rear tires in a hole because my rear window won't roll up and I didn't want the rain running toward the cab. Thanks for all of the great comments guys!

Sweet:waytogo:, isn't it nice to reap the rewards of a lot of hard work. Looks awesome. I can't wait to get mine drivable again. My hopes are to be done by the end of next summer. I'm jealous! Keep having fun with it!

Vary nice build.:waytogo: Must be nice to have a 80 acre back yard to wheel around in.

I only have about 10 acres. My buddy is the one with all of the land. It is alot of fun over there. He has man made mud pit, timber, trails, about 4 creeks and alot of hills. Thanks for the comments guys!

truck really came out good! :waytogo: great job, diggin the wheels, i what size are the boggers? now just get the cage in and enjoy! :D

Boggers are 15/38.5x16. I went down and got as stuck as I could in 2wd and then put her in 4Low and gave it hell. It is soooo much fun to get to drive it now. I think I am going to order shocks in a couple days and wait on the cage till I get rid of my LS1. Thanks again for all of the great comments!

Are the rear 64" springs stock? Kinda looks like the rear axle is back from stock location. Any idea how much? Are you running the gas tank in stock location? Any pics of the front mount for the springs? Build is awesome btw.

Yeah rear springs are 64" The PO did the suspension work so I am not sure on how far back the rear axle is moved. I will get some pics as soon as I can wash the ol' girl. She is cover in mud now (no inner fenders yet either! PISS!). I went for a quick drive earlier to throw all the mud off my tires and I think my timing is off now because she was running like poop trying to get into the upper RPMs. Can't remember if we ever tightened down the dizzy clamp. My blower isn't working and I gotta figure out my timing issue. I can't figure out how to use a timing light on my motor because there is no marker on the block to reference.

I really like this build. it looks awsome. how does that crossover steering work for ya i am looking to do the same on my truck.

Crossover is nice but when I hit my brakes it swerves right and when I hit the gas is swerves left. The first time I pegged the throttle on the street it took of left so I turned the wheel right, and then I hit the brakes and it caused it to want to hit the ditch. YIKES! Its not to bad though once you know hit going to happen. I don't have shocks or a steering stablizer yet so I think that will help.

Don't use the wrong stuff

I used a zip tie to connect my throttle cable to my carb because I didn't have the right part. (Don't Do That) Guess where it desided to break.:haha: I had already bought the correct part but I didn't install it. Lucky for me I grew up watching magyver (I can't remember how to spell his name) and I found some bailing wire. The good news is I got to do some real wheeling finally. This is the only pic I got but this is over at my buddies house like I was telling you guys about.

Cool build, truck looks bada$$. Question for ya, your front axle is moved forward with the 52s as well as with a zero-rate? How much has the axle been moved forward? What style pitman arm are you using? Does it come in contact with the spring plate when the drivers side spring is compressed? thanks
