"Hardcore" 89 (Black and Blue). IT RUNS, DRIVES, AND STOPS. BUILD ON HOLD

your rig is beautiful man, especially since just about everything is your on creation and fab work! props to the mad resourceful skills!

Went out today for a short trip and got to work the suspension out some. Uploading pics now.

Turned out to be a really nice day. Got a little bit of a late start, but had a great time. Redesigned part of the body a little, but nothin major:wink1: Truck did great all day. About the only thing i found is under hard throttle input in low range my front driveline Cv rubs on the x-member.

Drove to the trail about 45 miles at speeds between 25 and 65 and it drove nice except for the swampers. Little soft in the corners, but managable if you drive it like a truck.

On to the pics.

Mt Baker on the way there

At the trailhead there were a couple big rocks. I figured I would flex on them a little so I could check out any clearance issues before we got started.

It did pretty good. I need to bumpstop the front to keep the springs off the pitman arm. I guestimated my shock mounts about perfect. Never ran out of shock travel, but the brake lines in the front could be a couple inches longer. Nt sure if it was full drooped but they were almost tight.

This trail was very tight. My buddy in the red wrangler had to make several two point turns so you can imagine how it was for me.

This was a really tight section going up, but I made it without touching. Coming back down I was stuck. Tree on my bedside and tree in my grille. Took like a 23 point turn and stacking a couple rocks and still managed to scrape a tree in a few spots :D

Not too bad though. We'll see what happens when I try and put the top back on.

Dinged the cab here.

Had a great time. Truck seemed to work really good. My buddy was out in his Wrangler it was his first trip so he's hooked. he's already talking about axle gears and locker upgrades :D

nice lookin truck.
take a 2x4 and put it on top of the raised areas and nit it with a big hammer.work slow and you can get them almost perfect so the top will fit with out stress areas.

Where did you guys go? Kinda looks like Walker Valley, but it's been quite a while since I've been there...

Nice job on the K5 for sure!!

Yeah it was up at Walker Valley.

You need longer front brake lines..... :D

Yeah they weren't tight, but can't be to careful with that kinda stuff.

Good idea. I'll try that

Where did you get the long slip front shaft from? How is it made? Is it a tractor shaft?

I got it from bdegs on here. Don't know much about it besides it has about 12" of slip and looks pretty beefy. I have ran it up to about 45 mph with minimal vibes.

Latest edition is a trailer! 18x7 10k Should be great! Just gotta add a little to the deck where the tires will set and mod the fenders to drive over or make them removable :wink1:

Sure is. Got it for $2850 direct from the manufacturer here. Its pretty much identical to a Great Northern brand.

$2850 is a great deal for that kid of setup. It appears to have some electric brakes as well. Nice.:wink1: Now if you could hook a brotha up on some cheap shipping and another deal like that...

Yeah it's got electric brakes on both axles, and it also came with the spare tire. Its a pretty nice trailer and should work good for me.

Yeah I think shipping would kill the deal:haha:

Good lookin truck so far. :wink1:

Thanks! :D I will probably continue to wheel it like this for awhile. This last phase took awhile. Might get a cage this winter too. I really want a set of the 40" LTB's so thats the next upgrade followed by

Locked front
Hydro assist
Doubler
bumpers
