"Hardcore" 89 (Black and Blue). IT RUNS, DRIVES, AND STOPS. BUILD ON HOLD

I picked up some new LTB 40's a couple months ago. I went with some Allied Rockathons as it was time to get new wheels too.

So far I really like them. They ride pretty good for a bias tire, and I think they look badass!

Finally got time to take them out and try them. I cut my fenders some more yesterday before the trip, but quickly found out it was not enough. Ended up cutting a few small chunks out of the big lugs on each front tire. :(

The trails were mostly dry with lots of stumps roots and rocks, but it the shady low area there was plenty of mud and wet roots/rocks. The LTB's worked awesome on every type of terrain!! I wheeled 95% of the day in 2wd. One because its a whole lot easier to turn, and two just because I could :D

It was just me and my buddy with a Yota pickup that were supposed to go, but we met up with a group of Land Cruiser guys that didn't know the trails so we wheeled with them. Pretty good group of guys and some capaple rigs. Not my style, but overall they all did well. It was a little slow because the trails are very tight and they were very concerned about body damage:rolleyes: One guy in the green Lexus cruise whatever its called bent his draglink (He kept calling it his tie-rod) pretty bad. We used the winch and some redneck ingenuity and got it back to almost straight.

Anyway on to the pics. Mostly of everybody else except a few poser pics. I'll upload more when I get them off my buddies camera. I think we have video too.

Took a little bit of damage, but my buddy in the orange Yota got it the worst. He'll never be able to put doors back on it again.

Speaking of doors does anybody know where this goes?? :haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:

Found a nice spot to stop for lunch with a good view of the Olympics. There was a ditch so I took a few poser pics :wink1:

Looks like the suspension works WELL, and those tires are BADASS!!! good choice!

Yeah I really like them. I need to get a CO2 tank or my York plumbed up so I can really air them down when I drive to the trail.

Got a couple questions about your 4d's. How do you like them wheeling? I'm not worried about street because mine is trail only. Also what is the actual hight of them mounted on the truck? I am looking for a tire close to a actual 40" for mine.

This was the first time out with them, and they did great. We have lots of wet rutty climbs with tree roots and they grab everything. I was running 37" SSR's before these and the difference is night and day. They are a little stiff because they are new, but even at 20 psi the lugs really seems to wrap around stuff. Like I said I wheeled in 2wd most of the day. If you scroll up in the thread to my last wheeling trip it shows more of the trails for reference.

They are about 39.5" tall mounted on 16x10's at 20-24 psi on the truck. They were a hair over 40" tall unmounted.

They are not 16" wide however which is a good thing in my mind. The tread is about 12.5-13 inches when mounted.

I really like your Blazer. I am surprised your exhaust doesn't catch on anything though. Seems like it is really low going under your drive shaft.

Yeah it does drag now and then. I want to move it I just haven't gotten around to redoing exhaust yet. I would like to tuck it all up on both sides and cross it over behind the t-case.

thats a really nice k5 man. thats how i want mine to end up lookin like.

Thanks dude! It used to be really nice now it's much more functional.

I forgot to add it in to my wheelin report. Big Thanks to Jesse at High Angle Driveline for super fast turnaround on my front driveshaft repair. I had plans to ride along with a friend this weekend then it showed up Fri morning! :D :waytogo:
