"Hardcore" 89 (Black and Blue). IT RUNS, DRIVES, AND STOPS. BUILD ON HOLD

So the cage is out again. I couldn't make a dash bar work under the dash how I had it, so out everything came again.

I figured since I was bending tube again I should knock out a center console and new windshield bars as well.

I made the seat bridge removable so the console would need to be as well. I cut out 8 more flanges with the grinder and cutoff wheel and then drilled each one in my vice.. Shit takes forever to build something so simple.

Anyway got some more of the dash hacked up for the windshield bars and A pillars.. Kinda miscalculated the bend on the driver A pillar and the tube comes through the corner of the dash. I'm going to build some cover plates for all the areas I cut it.

Going to do some finish welding on pieces that'll be easier out of the rig, prime and paint the majority of it, and hopefully get it back in this week!

Thanks! I was happy with how it came out. After I get shifter routing and all that figured out I thought about getting some angle and actually making a storage area between the seats too.

Everything is finish welded that can be done prior to install. Hopefully get some primer and paint on it tomorrow at least on the majority of it.

Gotta have some Oh shit handles on the cage right?

Pretty stoked with how these turned out. 18" of 1.5" DOM bent to 130°. I just sorta winged it.

Oh and got my seat belt tabs traced to cut out so they can get welded on before paint.

I'm not even sure this engine cage/exo is going to fit with the A/C box. The fan might be in the way too. It just needs heat. I have no top and who knows how long full doors will last this round.

Engine fan? I cut the blades down a little bit but that was to clear the hydro steer hoses. I think it would have cleared the radiator. But it would have been close

HVAC fan. The bulges on the sides of the firewall are going to be in the way of the A pillar bars on the exo. I think I have that mostly solved as long as the tubes clear the fan.

Speaking of does the engine fan, radiator, and shroud work with the exo?

I used a factory radiator. Though it was from my old 79 2wd blazer. I think that radiator was a little thicker. My shroud was destroyed quite a bit ago so I never ran that. The fan cleared the radiator. But I shortened the blades to clear the steering hoses.

The only time I had a problem with heat was when I was at Dunefest running it up and down the dunes all day. Took the hood off Deuling style and it was fine the rest of the day

I have a set of Windstar fans so I guess I should just throw those in while it's apart. That'll solve the whole issue.

Looking good.

Those handles would surely kill me to death.

My A pillars are tucked up to the windshield frame pretty close. They shouldn't be in the way.

Nothing new has happened on this. I have been working mids, and the kids are playing baseball.

I did get distracted and bought another parts truck though. Made my Money back plus some so I gotta get rid of the rest. I only picked it up because it came with a TBI 454 and 4L80e from a '95 Suburban. He threw in a set of 049 heads and some Thorley Tri Ys too.
Parts truck had a hydro 465 setup so it was easy selling stuff.

Here is a full shot of the Blazer in its current form lol. My garage is super full now though. Today I'm going to try and get organized enough to get back to work on it.
