Yeah....we do have some pansies in the Army, unfortunately.....lol. I do need to find a more natural terrain to see how it really does. Thanks for the jabs to the rib cage....lol.

How's that front shaft? Does it vibrate?

Dunno. I don't tend to do high speed offroad. It was always intended to be a temporary fix. New springs moved axle forward and am currently acquiring hardware for a doubler so I didn't want to waste money on a shiny new drive shaft.

Cool 10-4 I did the same think once but it wobbled a little not too bad though.. I like that better than a square driveshaft.

Not much been going on. Been working too many hours to spend any solid time on the rig. Its running good so Ive just been enjoying driving it, especially with the recent good weather.

No progress update. Been super busy working, training, getting ready for an upcoming deployment. I have been enjoying just driving my rig around.

I call this "summer mode" on both my rides.

Finally got around to putting on my Dukes of Hazzard era Hurricane wheels on my rig after finally finding the right lug nuts.....what a pain in the ass....no one had 32 of 'em and some didn't come with the washer. I believe I have no more than $100 in all 4 wheels and tires.

Looks nice, I have the same wheels I am trying to get on my truck with some 37"s.

I posted on your fb post, but I have the same wheels in 6 lug. But i have stock ten bolt studs, and the rear 14sf has the 14mm or so studs. So im not sure If I can even make that combo work :dunno:

Well, its been 9 months since my last update. Uncle Sam had me on a hiatus for roughly six months. Made it back state side just before Xmas. I like to take a least a month from all my hiatus' to re-integrate with the family without many distractions. But for the last month I have been tinkering on the K5. The following will get things caught up what Ive been up to.

Ive had a Softopper for 4-5 years now. I had ditched the hard top 3 years ago. Last winter, the cold got to the vinyl window and it cracked. I have been thinking of ways to mitigate this for future winters and run the soft top in the warmer months, so I decided to build a home brew K5 to P/U bulk head and make my own soft upper.

Soft upper prototype using the Softopper cab snap bracket. The next one I may attempt to sew in a zipper for the window. Also threw in a truck box.

A couple weeks ago, I needed to NC to check on the rental property, clean it and make any repairs. I decided to take the K5. That would be right around 600 miles one way.

I had also wired the 2x2 led pods on the front bumper to act as turn signals.

This was at a rest stop a couple hours into the trip. The guy with the dog is busted for checking out my rig....lol.

I stopped halfway through the trip at a long time friends house in N. Georgia for the night.

The rig made it to NC with next to no issues. In and around for a week and half and the return trip was flawless as well. On the trip back, I had to stop by work real quick before heading to the house and when I started heading to the house, I acquired a rough acceleration. Idles just fine but will stumble on acceleration. When I punch it, the rough acceleration goes away. Still haven't had time to mess with it too much but I know that the fuel pump works, hear it humming when the key is turned. Checked the pick up sock just in case since it was easy access with the access hole I cut in the bed years ago. Sock looks good. Steady fuel pressure at the TBI with 15 psi. Hoped for a quick resolution throwing a new fuel filter in but to no avail. I still need to mess around on the spark side of the formula. That's where I think the issue lies.

I haven't played with it much cause a few days I ago, I picked this big girl up. 1982 Chevy single cab dually, 6.2 diesel, th400 with supposed 4.10 gears. Ive been tinkering with this girl that last couple of days figuring and fixing some of her bugs. She has some cancer in the rockers and cab corners but the repair pieces are on the way and shouldn't be that difficult to repair.
