Yeah, no such thing as too many pics!

In that case. First shake down run. No rubbing issues. Full brake down.

Rear ORD 4" shackle flip, oe springs poly bushings all around, Bilstein's , ORD extended brake line

Front custom ORD 4"lift springs. ORD beefy shackle, poly bush all around. Extended brake lines. Drop pitman arm (probably going to do crossover as I have an empty d44 with Reid knuckles already together. Will do that at the same time as the re-gear.)

Original drive lines will work for now but I will have to shave the ears on the cv. Plenty of spline through range of motion.

So i got to empty a few boxes this weekend. I pulled the intake off and replaced it with an edelbrock inexpensive duel plane intake instead of the carb adaptor.

Out with the old mess.


In with the new.




Had to drop the tank, cut a big ol hole and drop the pump in.







Then to reinstall and drop the tank about 28 times we had to cut and modify the bed and cab a little. A small body lift would have eliminated this ordeal but whatever.

Once the tanks was finished we plumbed the fuel and return lines to the atomic efi and buttoned the fuel side of the system.





Dropped the dizzy. Due to having the digital 6 control timing there were a couple mods to the Dist.



Overall it has been pretty simple but time consuming to make it pass my ocd test.

Gonna be a couple weeks before its alive but there is progress.

I would have used a factory efi tank and sender, and got the walbro pump to fit. That way you would have had to mess with that crap.

I'm building this truck from my wife so nice and clean is the idea. She's gonna use it as a daily. I've already "been there, done that" so that combined with no time to crawl anymore it's just not any fun anymore. Trust me it's a lot harder to built nice then to just hack it up and throw nice drivetrain parts at it

I've been doing well. I got into Army flight school 2 years after I left El Paso and have been doing that ever since.

The old red crew cab ended up in many locations. The drivetrain went the blue K30 chassis I bought out there and the body went to the dump. I blew the motor and ended up selling the blue body to another CK5er in SC. I threw the front axle in a Suburban I picked up and sold the transfer case to another CK5er in AL. I had to sell that one before I moved to Germany. It has been 4 and a half years with no truck. I miss wheeling, but have other priorities at the moment.

Glad to here all is well with you. The new truck looks nice. I am sure putting together a nice one is one heck of a lot harder than building a wheeler. Looking forward to seeing how you finish it.
