Howdiy's halfassed 4 link

Ok and get this with ballistic

So my first order I wait over 3 weeks to find out the guy thought I said 3 ballistic joints.

So I ordered another and asked if they can do priority shipping so it could get there in 2 or 3 days

So what does the guy do, sends it 2nd day UPS and charges me 25 dollars for it.

So now the 10% discount from a phone order sale is costing me more than if I wouldn't have used any discounts. :screwy:

Btw a word of advice from previous experience. Never try to drill a hole by hand over 1/2in

You mean like this?

I would definitely get on pirate. It seems anytime there's a proem ballistic will fix it. Worth a shot.

Any updates?? I'm very anxious to see how the James Duff coils work out for you cuz springs are the only thing i have left to buy for my 4 link setup and I've been researching and researching. I just want a nice riding rig that doesnt beat me up on the trail! builds looking good so far, keep it up!

Well Kid,
I'll give you this much. You got nutsack, for chopping on a truck that was driveable and doing what I keep dreaming about.
I'm watching to see how this turns out...cuz I got plans of my own.

Truss thing fully welded and the axle tubes are also welded. Tubes look pretty bad in the pic but that is one of the worse spots.

Spring/link mounts are tacked on.

what happened to your post in the "ballistic zone" regarding your order? can't find it now, was hoping to see if they replied yet.

before you build an "angry" truss think of things like bump stops, brake lines, limiting straps, etc.

Yeah I was thinking I will probably have to raise the timbren mounts and the truss would do that. I'm not sure yet, I'll get it under the truck first

And I think I'm going to do the upper mounts like this

I think my cousin has some adjustable ones of a race car that will work.

I keep checking this thread. I am curious on how the Bronco springs work out. I want to link the back of my K5 and I was planning to go with coilovers but I might just do it on the cheap and go with coils instead.

I am going to have to make a wishbone upper

That brings up one question, Will the 7/8" heim be strong enough or should I go to a bigger joint?

Why do you have to use a wishbone upper? What is up with the tweakage on the lower link mounts?
