This one has rust, when I compare it to other stuff out here. It started out in Wisconsin. But Thanks!
Looks like a calendar shot.
@500$k5 is good at finding great pics!!!
But me thinks that he might have played with the one pic a little. I still like it though.

Well I am needing to decide how close to put the exhaust to the oil pan. I looked for a metal heat shield , but I would be better off making one. I have heard that wrap can hold moisture and dirt and rot out a pipe, so I don't care for that idea.
Opinions? Any help?

I pulled the front springs back out to try and find out how much room there will be. The studs for the spring mount aren't trimmed yet, so they hit first. I was using the wood blocks to simulate the spring pack and the stock bump stop.

So what did we decide on spark plugs and starters in relation to pipe?
2” ok?

I bought sleeves for the middle plug wires, but I would like to crowd the limits with the exhaust. Not sure if some heat barrier will get it done, or if I should shoot for 1 to 2 inches of clearance. It would be sweet if I could drop below the pan just 3/4" . But I don't believe that will give enough cooling.

I thunk 3/4” is too close. I also think that if you’re not directly under the sump, it’s less of a concern. The pan will be hot anyway just due to operation

I think that you may be correct about needing more clearance, unless I can get some shield in there. But it will run ahead of the sump. It will be just enough forward to let the connector go on the knock sensor. It will get a sleeve too, cuz it's close.
I have an oil cooler, but there's pros and cons of one.

Everytime I think of a "big azz lifted fullsize chevy truck" I kind of laugh at the fact that exhaust is hard to route...

Everyone always thinks there is so much room in these big old trucks...
