all 4 brand new springs and the blazer sits low left side on the one i am building .

i measured a lot and found it to be the lr spring was a bit week in the arch . 1" less than the right side . i popped in a 1/2" chunk of 2.5" wide bar stock like a half thick zero rate and she is now right were she needs to be .

My son and I have been busy with lots of things, so the bumper progress has been slow. We did enough today to justify pictures!
I may be overthinking things a little, but I wanted the 1"×3" flat bar to pass through the bumper and catch a bolt to the frame. I didn't have a long enough piece to get 2 bolts, but I believe that the kid welds well enough to make the 1/4" plate take some of the load.
(Did I mention that I am proud of how he has learned welding??) :D

I am going to put a 3rd bolt in once everything is laid out for the end/side pieces. So that will give me three 1/2" bolts per side, which I assume will hold.
John cut holes for the backup lights last week so that let us move on to this stage. Today he also cut the ends for a small 45* into the side pieces. I gotta get in gear now!

What about a spare mount and a hitch?
No plans for a hitch, it's a wheelin' truck. There are two 3/4 ton trucks around my house for hauling. Never did like pulling a trailer with a K5, so this lifted, soft spring one is not gonna.
And I don't care for having the spare hanging off the back. That can change down the road if I change my mind.

Yeah I always like to have a hitch just cuz. My gutless diesel will never tow but once in a while I might want to move a trailer with it or something else.

I hear ya, but I have also witnessed guys getting hung up on a hitch, so I figure why mess around with it on this truck.

Yep. I frenched mine in and it's higher than the gas tank so not too worried about that.
Are you going to run oval grommet mount LED reverse lights?

I've never had that problem, but I know I'm just a young whippersnapper and haven't seen and done all the stuff you have.....

:flipoff13: :haha:

This is one of the reasons I put one on my truck so I had something to hit before the bumper.

No, I ended up getting Summit bucks when I bought the BroFlow4, and by the time I got the certificate, I didn't have things to buy for the injection...
So I ended up getting a pair of Rigid ones for about $38 out of pocket.
:saweet:

I don't think that's the same, that's multiplexing or sometin'..
:rotfl:

And I didn't think that the old man was going to try stuff like that when we put the rear bumper on his!
:doah:
But he only did that to move it in the lot, I think.....

Well maybe by the time you're my age, you will be trying to keep your a$$ from dragging as much as I do now! (Try to keep it from dragging...)
