LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
I sent him an email. Hopefully hear back tomorrow.

FYI, I haven't heard back and I just called and an employee answered and said they are swamped but he wasn't aware of the email and my contact was with another customer and he'll ask him to call me back. I resent the email too.

I figured a popular shop like that it may take a week.

Just was looking to buy brand new ones.
I can get em at the junk yard. But was trying to find new.
Haven't tried like lmc or anything like that yet.
Just Google and Amazon.

But, I can't get over the chrome center cap. And black would just be too much black.
So unless I find a color that work on the wheels besides black, I'll probably just burn these tires off and go back to the 20"s .

I was going to hit the A arms with a grinder today, to clearance for the 16"s.
And found a couple wheel weights in the driveway. :doah:
So, the 20"s went back on for now.
I didn't like the look of the fronts being as big as they were anyway. So I'm going to buy a cheap pair of used smaller 16"s to put on the fronts. See nice I have to have them rebalanced anyway.
Gives me 2 sets to burn off. And time to get the 20"s swapped to the next ones and rebalanced themselves.

Here's how it hits. Full lock.
So wouldn't take a lot to clearance them.IMG_20261007_142135731.jpgIMG_20261007_142115379.jpg

Then... Putting the 20"s back on. I found this:notworthy:
Dammit. Think I figured out that vibration lol.IMG_20261007_144450435.jpgIMG_20261007_143705857.jpg

Then, also seen this.
I'm not sure if they stuck em on, then moved them when it was being balanced, or if I lost some others. But it sure looks like there were some stuck there before.IMG_20261007_145306387.jpg

Think I found a happy medium for the steel wheels.
I painted up the caps, so there's no chrome. And they aren't blackIMG_20261013_132208255_MP.jpgIMG_20261013_121210216_HDR.jpg

Little bit of Mexicali spray can chrome isn't as bad lol.
Almost went black in the center though.
Still debating it.

Also, when I was leaving the shop, I have this quirk where I have to watch the door come all the way down and stop, before I'm happy and drive away.
But my head was hurting and a family tragedy happened yesterday, so I wasn't thinking and just drove away while one was coming down still.

About a block away I decided I HAD to go back and look, so I turned around in an abandoned parking lot, and found a replacement center cap :haha:

SCORE! LolIMG_20261013_114359954_HDR.jpg

It'll replace this crushed one. Which I AM going to do with a black center with red bowtie, just to see what I think.IMG_20261013_114417159_HDR.jpg

Looks weird because it's not bolted on , it's just rolled alongside the other tire.
But, gives an idea.
I can deal with that till they're burned off lol.Screenshot_20261014-112149.png

Can't wait to hear from the transmission dude forever. Lol
Running out of time to drive this season.

So burnouts back on :thumb:
Bad pic and fades into the distance... But... This one's from leaving work the other morning.IMG_20261018_185249491~2.jpg

Little better pic of them today, but couldn't lay another set due to traffic... :notworthy:

Also, firat time I drive it in to work on days, since the stereo install.Screenshot_20261020-205226~2.jpg

Well, I'm hoping that I did no damage... But, I think my rev limiter was changed and I don't remember.

Last year I was having the issue of it kicking in way too soon. And I'm not sure that I didn't raise it, thinking it was a 400 rpm buffer or something.
Can't remember :dunno:

But, yesterday I did a burnout on the way home, and while looking for cars possibly coming around the corner behind me, I thought "man, this fuggers singing!"
Looked down and it was running 7000-7100. No limiter sounds happening. :yikes:
Had it set at 6800 or 6900 I thought.
Backed off it, and continued the burnout around 6700 ish, for a bit. Then let er go and drove off because a car DID come around said corner lol.

All seems good, no sounds, and no oil pressure change.... But it scared me.
Pics of the burnout marks after I leave work.:waytogo:

I REALLY need a 360* GoPro lol.
Or a friggin drone that follows me would be cool.

Well I was over spinning the motor doing dumb shit and instead of letting out and checking things I just eased off the throttle and kept doing dumb shit.

I love reading your shenanigans.

I’ve spun my previous 392 charger over 7000 by accident a couple of times. My 383 in my blazer has gone over 6500 a few times because my dumbass set the shift points wrong. Both were fine.

One thing the last couple burnouts has shown me is......
The converter does its job well!
Stop, hit the fun button, smash the gas, and it gets to smoking rolling in like 1 second.
None of the old slowly spin till it picks up BS.
It's spinning, and it's spinning fast, RIGHT NOW!. Lol.
Exactly what I wanted it to do :thumb:

Only thing that would make it better is if it did it without the brake lock. Or brakes at all.

Last 2 I've done I actually worried for a second. Because the engine came up so fast I thought it was slipping the trans. Until I realized there's already tire smoke rolling and I'm slowly moving the ass left:haha:

I installed one of these from ORD.

I installed one of these from ORD.
I have a regular line lock.
But I plumbed it different.
Mine shuts the line to the rear off, so I still have full control of the front brakes, just don't have rear at all.
So, I roll to a stop.
Let off the brake for a quick half second, push and hold the button on the shifter.
Push the brakes again quick.
Then proceed with burnout.

Giving me the ability to sit in one place, let go and let it eat, or gradually adjust the front brakes to just keep the burnout going for as long and far as I want to lol.
Usually I only hold it a couple seconds then let it eat though.
