M1009 Standard Shift Build(The Greatest Adventure)

Time to move. Oh and don't let someone just barge into your place like that. He would have left with something missing if that were my house. What a dork. How is your stuff affecting him anyway?

He's an elderly crotchety man. No worries about letting him in the house.

I would move, but I'm not planning on staying at my current job, and the money I do have saved can't buy me a place anywhere in the greater boston area.

Yup, associations are made to keep people like "us" out. Unless you live in my association which is almost made up completely of people like "us"

It's usually older people too. What's up with that? Why do they care? They've lived their life so why don't they leave everyone else alone and let them live theirs? I just don't understand.

Oh boy. Not good. I know when I was up there last you said that could be a major issue.... I wonder if you could "smuggle" some stuff out of the garage and store it at somebody else's house....

I know I'm not close, but if you need a place to put some stuff or cars, I've got plenty of room.

The part that sucks is that he's old, he has nothing better to do than focus on fighting with you about this. And it sounds like he's in the right when it comes to the garage. But, if your truck is parked legally and in a common area, I have no idea why he thinks he could have it towed.

If he barged into my house, he would have been held at gun-point till the cops got there! :angry1: :draw:
Sad to say, it's a different way of life here. In the eyes of the general population, if you own a gun or show any interest in guns, you must certainly be a criminal or a murderer. And, this is one of those states where the criminals have more rights than the victims. More than likely, if this man barged into this house and was held at gunpoint till the cops got there, the cops would end up arresting the hold-ER instead of the person being held, even though he barged in.

Hindsight is 20/20, I wish I could've seen this place for what it really is before I bought my house here. :doah:

Nail on the head. That's why I GTFO'ed to New Hampshire. Much different culture even just across the state line. You both should do the same :deal:

I would consider getting some land up north. I spend half my time up there anyways.

First step is to really get my garage presentable and get my buddy's dad over who is an electrician to get the electrical approved and tagged.

I have been running my truck all night to power the heat in my camper. Last week a ran 5 nights. I didn't clock it specifically, but on average I slept 8 hours. This equals approximately 40 hours of run time. I drove the truck 40 miles on this same tank. Those miles were driven at slow speeds in a snow storm. My total fuel consumption was right at 17 gallons. I figure I am burning a little under 3 gallons a night. The last time I checked I estimated closer to 2 gallons a night. I think extreme cold temperatures and the slow snowy drive may be skewing this number.

I also learned that my heater will reliably provide 30 degrees of heat above the external temp. If I wake up and the camper is 30 degrees, it is 0 degrees outside.

On another note...

I fried the wiper motor at some point last week. I ordered a new one. It didn't have the squirts stuff, so I'm running squirtless right now. I expected a much less complicated system. My camaro has a way easier wiper motor to transfer the squirts on. I'm hoping to find a version with squirts installed. My old squirts barely worked anyways, so there is no sense in transferring bad worn out parts.

Yeah those things are a pain. I think the '73-'80 ones were even worse because you had to remove the wipers and cowl, if I remember right.

I installed my Psc pump finally. Steering has a noticeable change. It's easier to turn from stop to stop. I don't have any more pump lockup or belt slipping so far.

Overall it was a decent install. I put a new harmonic balancer and seal in at the same time. I also installed all new steering and hydro lines.

Nice Rich. Where did you get the bracket from? Or did you just move the alternator off of it or something? Looks like a perfect fit. :thumb:

The bracket is a piece of angle iron that I hit with a hammer and squished in a vice lots until it fit right. :haha: It shares a bolt with the alternator bracket.

Is it just a pump and res or did you get the assist ram and all that?

I'm guessing just the pump/res.

Just the pump and res. I'm planning on going the same route as Nate with the assist in time and money.

I really want to get the new tires on next, so I'm saving up for airlocks.

I sold my trailer on Thursday. Skiing is about over and I didn't want the condo association headache. I kept the power inverter and got every penny back out of the trailer so overall I'm happy.

Then I picked a Maggiolina up today. It's slightly used so I got a decent deal on it. The fellow also threw in some free maple syrup, and I got a tour of his sugar house in Vermont.

Now I need to build a roof rack. I'm thinking of going with aluminum. I may just have to pick up a mig welder and spool gun setup.
