M1028- [under new management]

Ordered some 60Gs. I'll just redo the connectors with some nice new insulated 1/4 inch ones so I know I can trust the connections :)

Will it affect anything negatively if I grind down the tang? I'd like to replace the connectors if I could find OE replacement clips, mine seem pretty chintzy, and I don't trust the connections. they do work though.

No its ok to grind them down:waytogo:

Local dudes- I was trolling around at U-pull-it yesterday and found a k5 with some super faded, but not ripped red cloth buckets and a decent console that I think I'm going to go snag today for my truck. I just need burb seat brackets to connect them to my truck. Anyone have any laying around? :) I might try to hit up 4 brothers as well, but their prices are usually higher..

Also, headed out to Seward today at 1 pm to change out my glow plugs and hopefully bring the truck back to where I'm staying for a while. My roommate won't let me keep it there much longer than a month, as it's going to be sitting in the spot that his boat lives, so..

1) Looking for a closer place to keep my truck until I can...
2) find a better place/room mate to live with.

that is all!

Got the new glows in tonight- ohm'd out the old ones and they were all dead as a door nail save for a couple that were all but dead.

picked up those seats and console, just need to find some burb seat brackets to make it work now!

Also cut off the sketchy old connectors and crimped on some new ones outfitted with a couple layers of heat shrink to hopefully keep them from flexing too much. looks pretty clean so far- hopefully the shrink holds up!!

So does it start now?

It does! I wasn't able to bring it back to Lincoln yet, since I couldn't find a copilot to drive my Jeep, but Trent tried it first thing in the morning the next day after it sat unplugged all night, and she fired right up after a half a crank or so :D

Woulda ever thought that the fix would be the most common thing... Now I need to get bucket brackets and figure out my bright/dim switch (lights stuck on low) and my wipers won't turn off..... ugg

It's too bad they went away from the floor mounted brights switch.

Aside from the wipers being dreadfully slow and gutless like most.. i didn't have any problems until I switched in the tilt column. The tilt is tight, and I gained delay function which is sweet, but looks like I went from good switches to ****ty ones. Sadly I threw away the factory column, or I could have salvaged switched that I know worked. at least for troubleshooting's sake....

Next time I get a chance I'm thinking about breaking into the cowl and cleaning up all the linkages, cleaning out the wiper motor, and redoing grounds. If that doesn't work, I might throw in a relay so it gets a solid 12 volts, and if that doesn't work, I'll get a new wiper motor and pump. $$$. As far as the brights go, I've read that the switch is actually lower on the column and is actuated by a rod in the turn signal stalk, but it's strange that both problems present themselves at the same time like this.

There doesn't seem to be a good way to pin down the wiper problems that I've read....

Hi, I figured on this wonderful snow day I should see what everyone is doing. Been trying to order 22lr ammo on line but I keep taking too long. I just want to shoot.
