noJeeps 2001 duramax Frank - new headlights

Looking at balljoints, I'm curious as to what y'all think are the best? I usually go with Moog, but there's other brands making a case for themselves, mostly in price. Or should I just stick with a product of known quality? (Moog)

ABS and Brake dash lights together at random can be as simple as a ground issue, or as bad as a ABS control module. There's some youtube videos on the problem...

I have all Moog replacement parts except upper ball joints on my K2500. I think they are good quality parts myself.

Moogs were good for about 50k miles. Tre’s on the other hand were about every 2 years. 2nd the no oiled filter. Acdelco filter out flow any “performance” filter

What is this thing? It looks aftermarket and it attaches to the oil drain and the oil filter adapter. It's not actually leaking, just the oil filter has been on there so long the seal failed. Gives you an idea of the maintenance regime the previous owner kept up...

Needs power steering hoses, and after that, should be good to go.

I paid $5000 for the truck, and barely $1000 in parts (tires, sending unit, power steering hoses and balljoints) and I could if I wanted, and I might, try to sell it for $10-11k as that is what most are going for around here in the age range.

Canister looks like a preluber. Does it have any electrical wires going to it?

A preluber usually is for building oil pressure before startup. Soposed to eliminate the wear from dry startups. Not needed on a dmax, they have a great oiling system.

It might have wires, I'll look closer. It might be the noise I hear while I'm waiting for the glow plugs. I'll probably remove it as it seems to be contributing to a lot of leaks, especially if it's not necessary.

Yeah I've read where a trans service change (pull the plug on the pan and change the filter) only changes half the fluid, so if the budget allows I'll change it twice.

The motor is getting a change of cheap oil and seafoam for a week then quality Mobil1 after that for the regular interval.

Also added to the list are Bilstein shocks, I'm fairly certain the ones on there are the originals...

Fix these few minor leaks, new fluids all around, new shocks and tires and this will be a whole new truck. It seems the original owner took good care of the truck, but the second owner (that I bought it from) doesn't know jack, and I saved it from certain death.
