NV4500 Swap

There is a big plate you unbolt from the inside, like 4 bolts. Then the whole works can be removed as long as the steering shaft has been removed first. It'll leave an irregular shaped hole about 6" square (ish)

OK, I got that part out. Does the steering shaft come apart at this joint or do I unbolt at steering box?

A small victory, much better than defeat!

On to flag football (coaching my oldest's team) and then monster trucks!

Lookin' good! I'm still in the parts-collecting phase, though I'm getting closer.

How ya like that rare-ish modern stereo that your truck has? I think it's just a year or two that they offered that option (instead of the standard 2-knob radio that the rest of us have).

Monster trucks were fun! Supercharged big blocks? Boys like the freestyle motorcycles the best.

Alright, pedal time!

Three, 1989-1991.

I don't envy you on the pedal swap, that is the worst part of the entire job.

Standard in those years. Din and a half IIRC...stupid. My 90 had one.

The stereo has not worked since I bought the truck almost 10 years ago. Of course, the thing sat half done in the garage for 5. Stereo is on the list.

Back to the missing clutch pedal brace. Another junk yard part? Can I get by with just one?

Are those hydro pedals? If so each of the two braces has a stud that goes through the firewall that the clutch master bolts to.

I got a hold of the guy who I purchased the pedals from. He is going to look in his shop tomorrow to see if the other clutch brace is around.

Other wise I can go look at a set and tell you if they are identical, then you could just copy the one you have if he can't find it.
