Old Iron 2.0

So, I'm gonna start a new build thread due to everything going in a totally opposite direction and this thread will be pretty irrelevant.

I'll post the link for the new thread in here for those who are interested in watching it and leave it up for a little while before I PM a mod and have the other one (and my other 2 old ones) deleted.

Huh?

Why do that? Leave the original stuff here, and just keep going. It is just a continuation of what you have already done.

I plan on putting some V-Bands on the manifolds, seems like it would be easier and I would have to worry about exhaust leaks popping up.

Uugh, stop over thinking this. Just get a new water pump, or leave the old one alone and reuse. As for v-bands, there really isn't a point. Do what you want, but now you will never have easily replaceable exhaust. That may not bother you. Not a positive for me. More hassle and work just so you won't have a gasket/donut at the collecter. Keep it simple and easy to fix.

I might be over thinking things. Just rrying to keep everything as simple as possible, the v bands make unhooking exhaust so easy and there's no flange studs to rot away and break off or gaskets.

Copper anti-seize.

In my old turbo 4-banger days I would routinely see 1000-1100°F exh gas temps. Never broke a stud or rounded a nut after I started using this.

Even if you still use v-bands, use this^^^. The bolt on the clamp will still break...

Update:

Ordered the TNA crossmember and TNA LS engine mounts tonight, should see 'em here in the next week and a half or so.

Haven't really did anything else with the Blazer... been doing a lot of training for work and trying to spend time with the family and work on stuff around the house.

A friend gave me this, was sitting in their garage and was offered to me.

Ran the numbers on the bottom. Comes out of a LMTV/FMTV. Folds down flat and has sliders. Super simple.

I think I know where I can get two more of these for free, just gotta make time to do it.

Picked up a 2003 truck intake complete minus throttle body for $40. The reason for this is because one of the injectors on the 6.0 was fubared. Stock replacements cost over $100 each (ouch...) and a used set of 8 is running about $75 on eBay.

The intake is a helluva lot cleaner than the one that's on the engine too. They're exactly the same minus a sensor missing and that's really it, I can swap that over from the original intake, all of this stuff looks pretty plug and play.

Seems like a good score to me.

I'm gonna try and prime them this weekend and pull the fenders off the truck and starte the de-bracketing of all the suspension in prep for new brackets and such.
