So done yet?
Yeah. I'm about 75 hours in. Think of it like this - after all this work, it still just covers the engine.Whew, makes me tired just reading about all the work.
Thanks! I'm eager to judge the results in the sun...installed.Glad you said you wanted to keep the dents, I almost said something.. looks great though! I think you nailed it!

Real frustrating for sure. New cable and latch are in stock at NAPA. In the meantime, Shiner.Of course the release cable broke now...
Thinking hard about it. We'll see.I recommend hood pins.
I get tired of banging on the hood to get it to open. Also had a few broken latches and that really sucks.
I'm not talking about on level ground. It's on the trail when you need to pop the hood and inevitably the truck is a little twisted up. Good luck getting the hood open. You know the latch mechanism is adjustable right? It's not really hard or time consuming to adjust and lube the mechanism to where the hood opens the way it should and closes easily.

Same here. My hood latch has been temperamental on occasion, but a deep clean and white lithium grease was always a long lasting cure.I'm another vote for properly lubricated and adjusted hood latches...
