I picked up the 525 mini tubing polisher. That and the soft side of a belt file sander are my go-to for tube prep. What tool are you using to prep the tubes for welding? Looks like all the mill scale is gone in a nice even way. Not by hand.

Blah, I dislike when I have to do repetitive notching...Looks like you had at least 16 of emComing along. I’ll pop the tacks on the back to squeeze in that last outrigger, and then it’s on to root passes.

It took about two years to go from dingle berries to decent spare change. I’m still on that journey. You should have a thread called weld pron.
No explanation, just pictures.
Love me some cad. Do the plates go topside or underneath? It took about two years to go from dingle berries to decent spare change. I’m still on that journey.
Today, I finished up the cover passes. Half finished 308L cap here for comparison to the hot root.

Lots of video to finish and release this week, so I might not get back to this for a few days, which is a bummer.

I love TIG welding, but it does take time.

Maybe, but that blazer bash date looms large, and the day job is kicking up significantly (a good thing). That’s for sure. You are a very much more patient man than I.
I was kinda wondering if you were going to be tight on time. I'm sure you'll pull it off.Maybe, but that blazer bash date looms large, and the day job is kicking up significantly (a good thing).
I might have to get some help from some of my builder friends to wrap up a handful of final details.

It's hard to have a bad time in Moab, and I sure don't want to miss out this year.I was kinda wondering if you were going to be tight on time. I'm sure you'll pull it off.
I've been stewing on the design for a bit, and I'm pleased with how they're coming togetherI'm in the same boat, my help also has to prep his Blazer.
These sliders are a work of art! wouldn't expect anything less from you.
ProTools 105HD - good for up to 2" .134 which covers 98% of the stuff for the truck, and 100% of the car. What tubing bender are you using? I had the wazoo Rogue one but did not like the way it stretched the tubing in the bends (11% distortion), so I sold it and looking for a replacement.
