It sits lower than a lot of light bars that find their way on our trucks. Mostly, I just wanted it out of the way of branches and trail things. Maybe there’s an aero benefit, but who am I kidding?

Will the lights cause weird issues with dust and just general glare in through the windshield with them mounted right there? Just curious.

My only concern is if you need to change the windshield it might be too tight.
An inch further would have helped
The whole thing will come off in that case (which will happen later this year). It's not a lot of hardware and it has a delphi connector, so easy on/off. Also, the bar and light weigh exactly 24 lbs, so man-handlable.

It's possible. I just don't know, yet. Dust has only been a problem when we're in a convoy, and I try to hang back pretty far to avoid clogging my air filter, so for me it's secondary to the risk of hood glare. BD says their lenses throw something like 95% of the light past the depth of the hood at this height, but we'll just have to see.

I have a sketch half done for lower reflector panel should I need it.

Very nice looking setup! I've always wondered about light spill over and glare off the hood with that mounting location.

I've dreamed about getting the KC version so I could get the Daylighter smiley face covers all the way across. :pimp:

Done. Just need to power it from the switch pro.

The new Seymour 316 black is pretty nice. It’s funny how it lays down almost as a battleship gray, but cures to that not-too-flat satin trim black. I’m proud to have had a hand in helping them hit that shade, so if no one like it, you can (partly) blame me. It will come out soon.

performance test please, want to total darkness turned into blinding light :waytogo: also the hood reflection and if any glare on windshield

looks really good. Send cut send ? on those parts

Dust and glare with overhead lights is a real thing, BD has done a good job with getting the light past the hood etc. so that's minimized. In dusty conditions overhead lights are nearly useless, at least in my experiences. Dust is just like Fog or Snow, any type of lighting needs to be as far below the users eyes as possible

I'm so jealous of your light game.

Even the LP9s on high beam get some glare running in the dust. Low beams have the diffuser lens and do really well in the dust, especially with the yellow covers. I have some S1s in yellow that I will mount below the bumper just as you outlined above, but it's a later project.

When is the test to see if you can out run the lights?
Step 1: ditch this head cold or flu or whatever. Step 2: let the rain pass today. Step 3: golden hour b-roll tomorrow, and night shots to wrap it all up.

I did a basic function check before paint, but a real test is set for this weekend.
