Not if you build a frame to support it so that it is not pulling it out just picking it up from there.
So I have been searching and cant find a solid answer. Anyone know what these half tops weigh? If you search on here you will get answers from 160lbs to 350lbs... I'm leaning towards 180ish but I'm just guessing
Another question... you guys think with my stock TBI 350, 700r4, 208 d60/ff14b with 513s could push 40s?
I'm thinking way closer to the 350 lb mark. 180 seems way light, take the top off and weigh it. End the question
Horton stock TBI 350 with 4.56 and 42s. Not fast but it's fine. And I can usually spin em up good in mud and snow. Will do 80 on the open road easy
It really shouldn't be a debate on getting the 40s, right?I am guessing in the 180-200 range for a top. Um yeah get the 40's
The only reason it takes 3 people to lift a 1st gen is because you can't put someone in back (lift up hatch, so no hand hold). I've moved them plenty of times by myself (when I was MUCH younger at least) by getting underneath and just lifting with my back and legs. I don't know the actual weight, but it's not insane. Certainly more than a half-cab top though. It takes 3 men to lift a double wall first gen top so I think the weights above 300 are referring to those. I remember removing a full top 75 as a HS kid and it wasn't nearly as heavy. Probably 200sh if I had to guess.

If someone will go to payson and pick them up for me it would be a done deal ....![]()
It was a double wall. Like I said, this was a long time ago when I was in better shape, so maybe my memory isn't reliable. I don't have a hard top anymore to check it on.Single or double wall? Two of us could pick one up but it would be really difficult to lift it high enough to install without damaging paint.
I used to get squared underneath and lift the top off mine then walk it back. Id have my brother or dad support it at the back while I hopped out then two of us would move it to a cart. Definitely easier with more people. It was a double wall. Like I said, this was a long time ago when I was in better shape, so maybe my memory isn't reliable.
