PLAN B

This build was 2 parts 1 i have a truck I made to pretty to wheel so I'm building an ugly one I can actually enjoy. And 2. My cousin has been trying to join us for blazer bash but his truck wont be ready so we are surprising him with this one
No I used a different clamp but you should be ok with that one. However the clamps tend to slip so once you get it put together and aligned you’ll want to burn in a short bead to keep it from moving on the tie rod.
Thanks, i was thinking of marking the tie rod there the big bolt goes through the clamp and making a flatspot for it to go in to hopefully keep it from sliding. Once i feel really good about it ill throw some welds on the clamp.

I would weld the tabs on the smooth side and use that bolt like a set screw if the hole is threaded all the way through. I had trouble with my clamp slipping so I drilled and tapped a set screw into it. Haven't had trouble since. (knocks on wood)

Yes sir it is threaded all the way through.

Hmmm i may use it how this jeep has it. I think the big bolt will still act as a set screw.

Its funny if you look online its like 50/50 on how people do this part.

If it slides how bad does that mess up your steering? Wouldnt that cause pretty major issues?

I’d imagine you could damage the ram if it went unnoticed for an extended period of time.

I wonder whats going to happen when i weld the tabs on that cover without removing it.

I beleive rtv also. Ill give it a go installed. If it leaks ill pull it and reseal

Just got my truck back from getting some arb work done. Funny thing, as i pulled into the driveway the power steering pump started to really moan and was sorta cutting in and out. Seems like i would have needed to do my pump this year ram assist or not. (And yes fluid levels and belts are good)

It’s pissed because it saw the psc

More dumb questions i hate asking but i need to.

I hate asking but im looking for ideas here...

This truck has always had a good shake/vibration at high RPM. Like if you are flooring it, it shakes bad the last few seconds before it shifts. Any idea where to even start looking at that?
Mind you two complete axle swaps and a new driveline. I think its further up in the drivetrain.

Motor/trans mounts maybe?

Yup. A buddy suggested unbolting the torque converter and rotating it and see if that changes anything

I FOUND A WAY TO ADD WARP SPEED POWER TO PLAN B!!! I DID IT!!
but i killed ANY resale value.... :dunno:
