Project 82 TCBF -10.13.9 - progress!!!

As much as I'd like to do that, I'd rather not. It still needs to be somewhat strong, as my tanks will be mounted to the bed, etc.

I won't go all out build stake sides and such, but it will be decent looking anywho.

As for the footage of the firing of this beast, you bet!!!! It's rapidly approaching :D

My only other question, bed wise....are wood screws sufficient enough (ones you would use to fasten 2x4s to deck) to attach the 4x4s to each other??

Ok guys, got some questions. I'm having some minor issues here that hopefully you guys can help me out with.

Throttle/TV cable. Besides disassembling the old tbi setup (which I don't remember one bit of it), how am I to hook these up? I have this bracket I had mounted to the qjet, but as you can see, it only lines up on of the holes.

Also, the vapor hose (seen coming from the front of the carb/mixer), should I route it over, or under the heater hoses?

So I've somewhat come to the conclusion that i need the tv cable corrector bracket. I know the impco 425 mixer uses a holley throttle plate, so do i get the bracket for a holley?

just found a pic from the q jet i had on it. the thing is WAY different....i'll admit, it's a little mind boggling

Thanks for the links, brother!! I'll look into it. Haven't been on in a couple days......the truck now has it's very own patio!:p::p::haha::haha:

The mixer is a square bore, so it 'should' work, but i don't need the cable. The thing I'm really wondering about is the carb end, where they connect to those brackets.

Aside from a quick bomb with some black paint, the bed is just about finished

EDIT:

I'll also add, it now has a bench seat, drivers side seat belts, heater installed, and a bunch of other chit!

Is the bench temporary? Waiting for another bucket? It's so nice to get to work on my truck after looking at it sitting in the snow for the last 5 months. Glad to see some progress. I'm hoping to drive mine by the end of April.

yeah, just until i can't get the other PRP ordered. That, and I don't have the time/patience/fab experience to make up the mounts for them...

I know what you mean, I'm about as impatient as it gets. I'm used to getting bit in the a$$ because of it though. I NEED to learn how to weld. It sure would make some things easier. The stuff you've done still looks pretty good to me! Keep it up!

:doah::doah::doah::doah::doah:

I'm terrible at updating this thing lately. Pics and an update tonight after the bed is painted.

Bed's all painted! I got pics, but I need to find the stupid reader for the duo SD card

you know if you was to line the wood with angle iron it would probably hold up for a LONG time.

Yes I do realise you said its temp. for now.

A couple drywall screws should hold that lawn chair on there well enough. Then you could take another passenger wheeling. :deal:
