Project cheap tow rig, 94 cummins...

On my bloodyknuckle offroad radius arms (cage offroad)they use huge heims the size of soda cans... they seem to do real good so far, on the highway anyway. I didnt get to try it out on the trail so i cant help you with that. Was said that with the heim ull get more articulation with them. The arms dont connect right to the axle tho they have poly bushings on the axle mounts.

Got the axle today, starting to have second thoughts.

I think I'll just have it to the side just in case for awhile

Edit: I have ADD

Any chance of finding a 4x4 2500 dodge you could hack up to steal for parts locally?

Theres not too much that I really need thats stock, I pretty much have to make everything since stock is junk anyways. The guy I got the axle from has the whole frame too

Back of cab roof and jams painted. The jams on the doors are also painted. Hood fenders and outside of doors are all thats left. Blocked sanded the crap out of them, wish I would have known about block sanding for the bed

Frame is painted and ready for the bed after I mount the gooseneck hitch

Ooo I just thought about it while looking at that last picture. Before you put your bed back on you should pull your sending unit and put a little spring in it to keep pressure on the arms as they travel up and down. I had to drop my tank and do it and it's pretty common on this era dodge. It'd be good insurance anyways.

That's what I love about CK5....

Screw having a problem.
We'll tell you that you're gonna have the problem, and how to fix it now.

Just, awesome.

X2 , my 00 has the " hanging up sending unit" issue :doah:

Yeah we pulled it out and it seems to function

Looks like I'll be going to the hardware store looking for a spring

Yep, I found one locally for something ridiculous, like $0.20 or something like that. I got a long one so I had enough to cut it down a few times. I had to play with it to get it just right. Too tight and the tension held the float up in the air, too loose and it didn't do squat. I kept shaving a little off the spring until there was just a little drag and viola! It works perfect now.

The float has been known to saturated with fuel. I've swapped a couple senders because of it. Just an eye to keep out. I'd you look for one they'll try to sell out a whole unit..... blah blah not serviceable.... blah blah. I've got the part # for the sender if you ever need it.

Whats the part #, my float looks like is rubbing something , it's deteriorating

Diesel fishes... I think they live in our tanks and eat the sending unit floaters. :)

I have no idea. :dunno:

Ah shoot I just saw you lookin for that number. I'll get it for you. Have to look it up again. I did a float and sender in a '97 and a '94 iirc

yep was a '97 I did last. here it is. the float had a big chunck gone and was saturated to the core. dealer only part. have to go to the dodge man, but just the float and sender is a fraction of what the aftermarket guys wants for the whole unit.

Thanks, ordered today along with a throttle cable

Hopefully the bed will go on this weekend

Part number ended up not working for some reason, just came up with a gasket. Looks like there is one on ebay, 100 bucks though. I figure if the stock one lasted around 300k miles I miles well just get another new one
