Been working on this a but lately. Took the body lift out. Whoever the cro-mag who owned this thing before me is was a cruel, cruel person. Due to the monster body lift that they put in, they welded washers in all of the body mount wings on the frame so they would only have to run a bolt through it with no sleeve. And by welded I mean finish welded, no way to really get out unless you wanna trash the frame portion.
SO upon finding this out, I run to town to get a Uni-bit thinking I would rip right through it. Wrong. The 45 dollar Irwin Uni-bit pissed its pants at the washers. Plan B was a big drill bit, and after the third time of almost knocking myself out with the drill when it grabbed, I decided this wasn't the best course of action. Plan C. Carbide bits. Did I mention the truck is 150 feet away from the garage? No way to get air out there, so drill it is. I get the rear most done, and the BODY FALLS OFF THE FRAME OF THE TRUCK. Luckily, it caught itself, and with some gorilla strength and some friends I was able to get the body back to where it should be.
So upon getting the rears done, I think I am in the clear with the washers..... Nope. Not even close. I had to drill all 10 out. Right now I've got eight done, and I am shot.
