rattle can paint jobs...show em off!

Bringing back an old thread... figured I'd add the pics of my Krylon Satin Black paint job I did over this weekend.

Pictures of what it looked like when i got it, and how it sits now.....

Its a 1980 chevy luv 4x4,1.8l engine,4 speed trans, locking hubs, and 4.10 gears...

I bored the engine 30 over, shaved the head 20 thousands...

These are a few picture of what i have done to the truck. (also going to paint the inside of the cab with bed linder)

Here are the other pics i could not post all in the same post.

the new wheels i traded a buck knife for them.....(it was my uncle)

New parts to rebuild the motor. (bored 30 over with the head shaved 20 thousands)

Engine bay and truck finished with the paint. (i got the new wheels on it now though.)

Honda with Purple Krylon

I know its not a truck but....
When your daughter asks for a purple car, how can a dad say no?
7 cans of purple Krylon for Walmart: $35
2 Cans of Clear Coat for HVLP sprayer: $50
1 day sanding, painting, and buffing: $0
Spending time with my daughter and making her happy: $Priceless

I am impressed. It seems everyone does the flat black and at this point I'm just bored with it. I've been looking to make my truck one color instead of the 2 tone and may take your truck as inspiration.

And I just noticed your in Mass too...

The topper has Marine paint rolled on and the blue is Krylon Light Blue Rattle can, the white on the body is still factory

its krylon rust tough in true blue.pretty tough and doesnt scratch too easily either.

thanks!! it took a little time, prep work is tough! i'm not a fan of any black! you can always see the spray marks on it, and black is the toughest to keep clean!
the top of the cab is the original factory paint, the bottom is leather brown or something along those lines. the paint isn't as tough as i thought it would be, seems soft. but then and again, any paint would come off when rubbing elbows with the trees. i'm debating doing a clear coat in the spring.
mass. the state with a love hate relationship. i'm up in bellingham.

This was just after a refresh: I used primer grey, flat black , and Camo green

This is with factory bumpers, chrome mirror etc.

a few years later, no chrome.

"Your Truck Sucks" applies to all those who don't qualify for the "Built, Not Bought" logo. Then again, any truck is better than my VW Jetta....

My 1982 K30 3+3, 1988 V10 Suburban, and 1985 K5 Blazer. All three are rattle canned flat black.

The K5 was painted on a Minimum Maintenance road.

We painted my V10 in the driveway.

Exactly...

I have since removed the "your truck sucks" sticker.
I got a note on the windshield that said, "No... YOU'RE truck sucks!"

After checking over all the exposed parts,
I removed the sticker....
