Why stay with a 465? Especially with boost .. Slow to shift why not go m22/21 and a doubler?? You don't need Od so a nv4500 would be a waste?? You got me on he boosted title I clicked right on it.
main reason is the 6.55:1 first gear. this truck is still a crawler and i can shift the 465 decently fast (ask those i wheel with) but i dont need to be able to shift as fast as i would be able to in an m21/22. for the type of wheeling and competeing i do time lost between shifts wont be a huge factor and lose of boost will be minimal due to the size turbo ill be running and how quick it spools. if it was built strictly for straight line mud drags or a type of competition where lose of time between shifts where a big factor id probably just swap to the 4l60e that was in the donor. or find a 4l80e.Why stay with a 465? I'm leaning that way. Any thoughts on the sye for the 208? Is it much different from an sye on a 231? I have experience with those. Can't find too much info on it on the net and I'm not too keen on running a slip yokeSwap in the SM465/NP208.

Good to know. Found some info on this after you mentioned it. Gonna hit a few junkyards this weekend to see how hard it would be to try and source a dodge 208People use the rear of factory Dodge NP208's.

found a dodge 208 for a decent price on Craigslist I'm going to go pick up tomorrow. Seems the benefits of just swapping over to the 32 spline 465 with the 208 far out weigh trying to fix the setup currently in the truck. Hopefully the driveshaft lengths won't change too much but we will see86 F150 with the fixed yoke, same as the Dodge 208? Found a Ford 208 with the fixed yoke locally for $100. I may go grab for myself.
I'll be sure to take a lot on swapping the components from the dodge case to the Chevy. As far as mounting the 208 there won't be much as its already mounted to the 32 spline 465 I'm putting in. Going to have to set up a shifter too.I know there are a couple threads on here documenting the 208 swap, but make sure to take pictures cause I'm right behind ya!

Yeah I'm not going to tear apart the bottom end. Will only drop the pan to replace the leaking pan gasket and drill a whole in it for the oil return from the turbo. I'll clean everything else, tape off, and paint the block and heads. Then back together with new GM performance mls head gaskets and arp head bolts. Also new intake and exhaust gaskets. This motor was well takin care of and I knew the owner. He was religious with his service schedule. The engine just turned 105,000 when he wrecked the truck. You just cleaning it up yourself?
