Rdn2blazer 73’ K5 build thread (random pics)

You should be able to drive it to Mt Rushmore, roll it across the nose of George Washington, then drive it back home with maybe a scratch or two. Nice build!

That right there is PURE SEX. The idea, the design and the execution. This is probably the best designed and aesthetically pleasing cage I have ever seen. I would stick my **** in that cage, if it was a female cage, of course!

Bravo brother!

Your officially my new best and only friend from Texas :D. Thanks man.

YOu are welcome, but on a serious note; as an ex-engineering student, it really is a fine peice of work.

Can I save it for a screen saver?

By the way, do you have something like this for whoever rides inside that cage?

...and I mean the helmet, not the computer or the iced tea...;)

When the rig is finished I will have them for passengers for tough obsticals. It's a must. Cage tube even padded can split your brain bucket open right quick.

Everybody should read that and take it to heart. :D

Of course it could be argued that in an accident on the highway, the acceleration forces on occupants (and therefore danger to get in contact with the cage...) would be higher due to the likelyhood of higher speeds... of course it's inconvenient to wear a helmet for regular driving; I don't do it, either, but neverheless...:doah:

By the way, I've seen a plenty of big builds at Blazer Bash without single piece of tube to protect the occupants...:o ... and we've seen how easy a Blazer top folds inwards...:(

I'm with ya 100%. My boy and my woman, or whos ever in my rig, their safety is my responcibility. Granted Throttleissues may chime in and say my rig will never see the wheels turn cause it's taking me soooo long to build this gawd damn truck, and he may even be right but thats ok, I LOVE my K5 project. :D The one vid I saw of the Ford pickup floping over backwards and the cab crushing flat to the beD rail and hood is SCARY AS HELL LOOKING!!!! :eek1:

You guys are making me feel guilty bringing this back to the top, I have no progress to post. :doah:Damn I NEED to get on this thing. But thanks guys!

I'll be in Pismo for a couple days between Christmas and New Years, I expect to meet up with you finally! There's some motivation so get off CK5 and go bend some tube! :)

Oh come on now, Rob, I wouldn't say a thing like that. Seriously, this thread is only 1 1/2 years old. Of course, it started in the middle of your build, not the beginning.:doah: It really is a pretty driveway ornament after all.:D

I didn't sound offended did I? I'm not, infact as stated above I even agree with you. No worries Chris, it's all good. Just know I'm working on it and will be posting some progress pics soon. I do what I can.

I love your K5 project too, man. I'm just eager to see it back together. I really don't have room to talk since I have my K20 driveable, but without 4wd, and my 1 ton has no engine or t-case linkage in it.:doah: But here I am pestering you instead of working on my crap.:D
