it shouldn't.. that's why you need 4 relays, 2 per side... basically your making the park feed to the light switched in itself from the rest of that system, to cut power to the eye and allow the blinker feed to flash it... i haven't done the diagram, but I'm pretty sure my brain diagram will work.. when i get bored, i'll have to draw it up..

but i did just think of an issue with that.. i'll have to draw that up tonight so i can get a visual on it...

yup, brainfart... you're right, it will alternate.. not that that would be the end of the world, but i'd like to figure out a workaround for that.. no rush...

That is the problem with LED compare to incandescence bulbs. You can't back feed an LED to have it still work like an alternator light or the front side marker lights.
The front marker lights being LED seem to be part of the problem also. If I think I could get away with it. I wire the relays the same as the front marker lights. Brown (running lights) on 85 a relay and dark blue / light blue (right turn / left turn) on 86 (right and left would be separate relays). For those of you who are familiar with relays would say that wouldn't work since either 86 or 85 needs to be to ground and your right. It works with factory (single filament) bulb because it is wired sort of in series with a 1157 duel filament bulb. Power goes thought single filament bulb then through duel filament bulb to ground. Just replace the single filament bulb with a relay. The problem is the front marker lights are also LED in place of the 1157 bulb.

been just running Mutt daily to work and around town.... speedo works great as usual...needs a bath....

so, jotted down a text doc the other night.. a list of priorities... purchase and actual work... the work being stuff thru this summer/fall.. you can bail now, or read minutia, your snooze threshold to be challenged, should you choose to accept....

I'll do the coin list first, as it's a bit easier.. and more clear these days... maybe a note or 7 after each to describe what and why....

1 - rest of the needed rockers, cab corners for Mutt.. see work list ;)

2 - fuel tank - need to finalize this and go talk to those guys for a $$$... need to get off my arse and finish my amateur drawings/#'s.... This is #1 for getting the dizzle in... want to use our machines at work to pull the bed and install the tank by say, sept...

    3 - hydro clutch kit tennessee diesel - $400

    4 - x-member/mounts Agan or Bonney

    5 - Vintage Air $1500

    6 - Ron Francis panel $200

    7 - dodge NV4500 $1800

    8 - bellhousing

    9 - clutch

10 - ORD order........ adapter and 205 stuff.. twinstick, etc....

    11 - shafts

    12 - exhaust

    13 - tach, pyro, boost

    spring/summer projects......

temp switch hookup and figure out eyeholes...
    rockers
    underbody lights
    install new tank

fall load.. carshow, final pic stuff including drone footage, before it comes off the road...

tear down come nov/dec.... Vintage Air install and wiring begins.... x-member and mockup begin.....

    stuff happens..

    :burnout:

    joy..... :saweet:

I got em as a freebie a while back... They actually do a nice job of lighting the surrounding area/ground around the rig... good idea for a fumble fingered mechanic... ;)

Just read through the whole thread, again. All I have to add

I was curious on the gage bezel, is there a future trim piece at the joint with the column, like the factory truck had?
I concur with the call for 3d print on this bezel. I'd love to do this, and may need to make one. It's given me bad ideas I cannot afford

    Nice work

    good eye... ;)

i didn't bother doing it cuz i won't actually be using that column.. when i do the 12v, Ron Francis block, wiring and column, I'm gonna do it than.. basically i plan to use the rubber collar thing that slides over the column on the pre 80's column I'm gonna use. than at the bottom I'm gonna build a composite "bridge" kind of piece across the bottom to keep it in place.. kind of like the factory plastic one in the 89...

    and thanks... :)

currently I'm just doing some minor maintenance on Mutt and trying to dig out all the upper plastics and headliner for a clean/refinish/reinstall... probably wont do the rockers till after the 4th of July...

Never been a fan of the display radios. Too much light in the cab. But I drive at night a lot

Having a touch screen radio just never feels right in these trucks.
