Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

You can usually dim the amount of light from the screen

the other aspect of that is, it will be pretty damn low in there, between the dash and floor.... really just trying to give myself an idea how much of a footprint it will take.. I'm thinking that and the heat/AC controls.. tho, a small round marine setup might pair better with the smallish AC controls.. ways off, just trying to give myself a visual...

In the mirror are stealth but only like 2x2 screen I’m not super old but find myself squinting at those .

yeah, that'd be my catch 22 to that.. definitely rather be looking at that mirror, trying to see out the back window also, but I'm pretty blind these days for a 2 x 2.....

Yeah, another good idea. I haven't used one of those but keeping your head up while backing up would be nice.
I had one of those in the mirror in the blue camo blazer, not bad.
Didn't feel too small, not as big as my wife's Nissan rogue screen but I don't even look at that one.

Put a cheap chinese one in my Camaro, and liked it so much I put another in my wifes truck. Price has dropped since I got mine, uses android for the OS if you're into that..

maybe you could get dimensions/footprint on it when ya can remember for me? they don't seem to list that anywhere..

took care of some needed maintenance over the weekend, but i hope to be working on new stuff this upcoming weekend...

Hey, it's a standard double din faceplate - if you're mount it behind a trim panel it's 197mm x 97mm. I can't get a depth w/o tearing the dash apart. They do have actual customer service in China. You have to sign in to get it /w a serial number though. However, they did respond each time over night w/ coherent answers which was surprising.

converted drivers window in Mutt over to manual today.....

bought a reg and nice black handle (fuggin things are $$$$$!!!).. now i need to order the other side and get a pair of door panels...

not sure what route i'm going with those, purchase-wise... i'm going to run a stock base panel, but may do my own inserts and pulls.... LMC has the cheapy pair for like $160 to start with as a base to add on to.... or i can just buy a pair with all the bells and whistles for $400 from classics, etc......

FTR... the backs will remain electric and be controlled by a pair of Conturas in the dash...

Ya my door panels took 11 weeks from them, you should think about doing Dynamat on your doors while your in there makes a world of difference

oooh, thanks.. i completely forgot about that in the doors... i had been doing some research about 6 months ago on what i want to run on the firewall when swap time comes....

I'm not 100% on if I'll leave the factory upper alum trim under the handle, or make an alum one that matches the dash insert.. i also think i want to get the black billet handle ends from LMC.. but DAMN they are pricey, like $40 for the pair...

not sure what/if any lower treatment will be done.. I've always kinda liked em steel for the 2-tone effect.. break it up a bit... maybe just some speakers....

actually after just looking at them, I think I'll do custom lowers from black composite.. carry it over from the bezel... maybe do a custom cubby compartment...

am i cwazy for wanting to black out my door handles and locks?
