Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

My wires are not secured at all, but I'm wonder if the pressure from the bigger wire on the plastic, when rolling around that curve, will be too much for the chain? Then securing it to the chain may alleviate some of that pressure? I would definitely try in without the wires attached first though.

that's why i was looking at the metal stuff.... now that you brought it up, i'm not seeing why you would have to secure them if it all tracked nice...

they actually make those in fully enclosed, 4 side, feed-thru style too... i ruled that out initially, but maybe I should take a peak at em tonight...

Are u going to have on/off switches at the batteries for emergency shut down?

those 2 remote bat switches that the bats are feeding have manual shutdowns on them.. in addition to the remote on/off switch in the dash...

you turn the yellow knob at the end.....

oh, another sticking point to this whole deal.... I'm not exactly sure how the track is gonna have to mount... it will more than likely be upside down compared to this pic....

cuz the tray moves, not the ceiling... so that throws some tray configuration issues into the mix due to where the cables will exit onto the tray....

gonna get out and check all this tomorrow.. i may actually move the bats to a front/back config on one side....

oh, personal rant..... :(

nothing compared to some folk in here, but man, I'm such a battered fug.... :doah: basically perm hernia pain for about 3 yrs running now, 6 knee surgeries always ready to wreak havoc, I could barely walk going into the week, and then i shredded my lower back on weds..

it's crunchtime, thurs/fri weather was ideal, went in to get some shrink done cuz I'm soooo screwed till x-mas... HUGE boats coming up... couldn't go after lunch, literally crawling up the stairs when i got home.... don't plan on working till tues, weather looks like ch*t... told the boss, he better pray I'm feeling better....

on a humorous note, Kai found me taking a hot bath quite amusing! :haha:

How much longer you have till the winter break? Sounds like you're really in need of one.

When you gonna get that hernia taken care of?

With that type of track make sure it's big enough to have plenty space around the wires. If packed too tight, when it rolls it'll bind. And I'm not sure of that one. But the ones we have around work only flex/roll one direction.

x-mas.... it's feeling a bit better today, but i don't think i'm gonna go back till weds, try to give it as much healing time as i can...

who knows on the hernia... the doc wanted a cat scan, insurance denied, said ultrasound, than denied it again.. not sure what they're gonna do know... gonna prolly have to wait till my guts are coming out again before they fix me.... ;)

thanks for the real world.. i'm tempted to buy just a 1' section to see how the bundle fits, if good, buy the other 2' to add to it...

On that track, I'd mount it so the track is horizontal - if it's vertical, the joints may allow the track to sag. I imagine it flexes like a bike chain. Sideways would be self supporting - fastening above could cause it to droop.

no way to conceivably do it sideways.... i think.... ;)

and thanks for asking..... ;)

That's why it only bends the one way I believe. It'll roll inward, but locks straight when trying to bend the other way. Keeps it's from sagging. It'll sag ever so slightly but won't fall down and lay on its self.

right, if i'm not mistaken, it has built-in stops to the links....

The track they run the hyd hoses in utility truck booms is run vertical. Of course it sits on the floor of the boom section and juts rolls in and out as the boom extends and retracts.

i think it's gonna be fine...... :saweet: :doah:

just need to take 1 meash to determine which of 2 tracks i need....

why the fug do I come up with this whacked sh*t? !? :dunno: :screwy: :doah:  :haha::1zhelp:

just prioritizing spending with holidays coming up.. with presents and just bought a new 55" tv for the living room.. moving the 42" down to The LAB™ to replace the big heavy beast that died... also have the winter tank build, life, yada....
