thanks man, appreciate the offer and props...![]()
yeah, i wanted some depth, so it would have that shadowed feel... one of the probs with those letters beyond the font, is that they are shallow at the top and bottom, and more pronounced 1/2 way up.... they have a curve...
NotLaw has been hooking me up with various CAD ideas/renderings.... I'm not sure which way I'm going to go, with the black background style, or an individual letter one i had him do... it has the GMC a bit bigger than the existing one, and the 5.9 is a tad smaller...
i may order those, and one with the all-in-one background, to give myself a choice.... that Shapeways company seems cool... they do black too..
the one thing is, the single, background one, is actually a good bit cheaper than the individual letter one we came up with.. the single is like $23, whereas the individual letters would be $48.. i'm guessing that's due to # of pieces... haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I'm grateful to Notlaw for taking the time to hook me up with something a bit more pro that is beyond my capability...
stoked on how I think the overall look of the dash will be once done...back to work monday, so I only have a couple days left till I start torture season...

Yeah, Shapeways, like many places that provide a printing service, charges a per-part processing fee. Its not much, but it adds up quick.
If @dbcorvairracer can print them up on a makerbot though, that would probably be much more cost effective.
As he says though, the parts would probably require more post-processing then a shapeways part. That being said, even a shapeways part may require a bit of processing to smooth out the print lines.
@ryoken, Those STL files I provided you are exactly what dbcorvairracer would need to print any or all of those parts.
