Ryoken's 91 GMC 1500

I love a good thrashfest.. where it'll take as much arse-bustin labor that you can throw at it.. the harder you work, the more amazing the outcome...

i do love a casual, fart around the garage kinda day too for sure.. next week! ;)

*off to make noise and dust*

Blackie all thugged out...

more than likely going with the quad lights down the road...

but it's a reasonable hearse/grandpa rig/ kennel for now....

and the obligatory Mutt photobomb... ;)

gonna eventually do the composite headlights and new grill, but I'll run it for now.. ;)

.

I had an 88 NBS back in the day, bought it with 9000 miles on it as a demo. Mine was the c1500, short fleet, 350, getrash 5 speed, 3.42's and a SLE. Fun truck, then got married, had kids and sent it down the road.

little project in jan/feb for my Blacky.... ;) the cap has been off since spring since Kai doesn't use it... much more reasonable to drive...

putting the bucket/jump seat deal from the 96 dodge i gutted for the 12v, in this rig in jan... gonna be a big pain, fab-wise... but i need a new seat, and have this, and time... and should be a very functional addition to the rig... bench for the pooch, fold-down console for the rest...

can't believe i'm gonna post in this thread... but my loyal backup/often main squeeze has been relegated to dedicated back-up role to the FuRd.... so, even tho the rig has some nasty corner/rocker rot going on, it has new cab mounts and floor, and seems to be pretty stable rust-wise in the NE corrosion corner here...

sooooooo... some minor "make it last another 10 yrs" maintenance stuff...

#1 - replace the 15+ yr fuel filter on the frame.. will necessitate patching in lines on either side..

and.. putting the dudge front seat in!!!!! :saweet: :woot: :saweet: :woot: :pimp:  :haha:  :doah:  :1zhelp:

eh, bought the square tube for it back in the spring.. sick of tripping over the seat in The LAB™... couple day project this winter.... got the seat, "might as well" use it...

don't post in here too often... ;)

finally getting to this seat project.. and really, it's just to get the damn thing out of The LAB™ :haha:

built a frame today out of 2 x 1.5 x 1/8......

tomorrow I'll get the whole seat mounted up to it.... than I'll mock that up in the rig with lumber to get riser/mount measurements...

I have set of 01 dodge seats I was thinking about using for my 77. The best thing I like is the console!

yeah, it's kind of perfect for me with Kai... I can fold it up into bench position for when he's with me... big thing is, it's solid.. the old one is falling apart where I drag my carcass in/out..... wish they where black, but whatever... maybe i can find a couple cheap covers for the bucket parts....

trying to get some more consistent time in The LAB™.. only have another month off and I really haven't been putting in time down there like past winters so far.. obviously I don't have the project load this yr, but there is always ton's of organizing, cleaning, etc I can be doing.. the shop is a cluttered clusterfug right now...

so much for good intentions.. epic fail....

went to mock the seat up for risers.. while it does fit in the cab, it's too wide... in the sense that the bucket isn't lined up with the wheel... if the center console was a bit thinner, it would work... throw in on reevaluation, the center console isn't overly helpful as it doesn't have cup holders...

oh well, gave it the ole college try...

not sure what i want to do with the seat now... i could throw some casters on the frame and have a roll around couch, but it eats up valuable LAB™ space...

Bummer! Factory bench now? Wonder if new foam/cover is enough to make it livable.

yeah, i just threw the stocker back in... and yeah, it's losing some foam by the door, it's manageable for now... and I'm not looking to do anything extensive, like reupholstering the seat... might just glue a bit of foam in it and put a new cover on it.... this is when it was fresh.. now it's all shredded on the ds... for $35, they don't last overly long... think i got 4 or 5 yrs out of this one...
