TBI Mods:Snake oil or worthwhile??? Updated 5/19/12 AFPR and Pod Spacer!!!

I vote NO on internal trans re-gearing unless it is a TH-400. More likely a higher stall speed converter may have been used. "Something" was changed if you can spin 35's from a dead stop with 3.08 diff gears

Wow, this is almost completely off topic.... I guess I can see a connection because I was considering the 3.08's in my m1009 rear I bought, but I have since decided that was just a dumb idea and will be regearing it to the stock 3.73's. I hate to say it but life, work, kids, night school, etc. have almost completely derailed my blazer project... We have still not found out what the financial damages will be from my 8 year old sons stay in the hospital 2 months ago, but thankfully he has fully recovered! I need to do some small projects on the blazer to get that excitement and sense of accomplishment going again. Lot's of stuff to do and parts scattered around my basement, just need some time and motivation.

ok i need ur guys help i got a 87 k10 350 tbi stock but no cat and glasspack muffler its got 308s and 35s but the previous owner says he had the tranny geared different to make up for long gearing and big tires. a friend of mine who is a great mechanic says thats very unlikely, but the truck has balls i can pull up to a stop sign and with out the brake mash the gas and burn the 35s so what r ur guys opinions?

There is no way you are doing that with 35's and 3.08's.

Trans was not regeared. Axle ratios must have been changed.

Open the rear cover and check out your gear ratio.

sorry didnt mean to thread crap but thanks for the responeses its a 700r4 and the truck goes pretty good about quarter throttle or a tad less gets me accelerating to 50-60 pretty good in a decent amount of time i guess the only way is to pull the rear diff cover and find out. thanks for the opinions sorry to jump in

Now I might have to actually work on this thing so I can bring this thread back on topic...

Go back to the main Garage forum, click that button, and then post away. You'll get more serious answers and probably no flak for doing that.
What you did just annoys a bunch of people and pollutes someone else's thread.

Haha, no big deal. We are just bustin balls, did you check out my post on your thread? Lots of knowledgable guys here, including the guys giving you a hard time. Stick around, use the search function, pay the $25 so you can see the pictures and post everywhere. You won't regret it, best $25 you can spend on your truck. You will easily save more than $25 fixing your truck with the help of guys here. There's probably not a problem that hasn't been already covered here, the search tool is your friend.

Well, I finally installed the Pod Spacer, Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator, and fuel pressure guage and adapter this afternoon! Yeah, I know, it only took me a year to finish the job... I set the fuel pressure to 13psi and the idle smoothed out real nice, she purrs like a kitten now!!! I gave it a quick shake down run just to see if she runs ok. So far no issues, but I haven't driven it enough to get a good feel and check my mileage. I'll update again, I may start playing with timing and fuel pressure to see if I can tweak this thing a bit more. I posted a bunch of pics and write ups at the beginning of this thread, so it may be worthwhile going back if you're interested.
Time for some pic whoring:

I ditched my trim rings and repainted the steelies after I put the 32" Goodyear MTR's on:

Those dang tires really dropped my mileage, I wouldn't have thought going from 31's to 32's wouldn't be that drastic, but I guess the aggressive tread really adds to the rolling resistance..
