It's a lot noisier and a little more difficult to get started in 1st. I've been using L a lot more from a stop.
Should I keep the trim rings on or take them off?
I like the trim rings, but there were occasions when I would take them off rather than loose one offroad. I think that if you air down is when you may lose one. Just my opinion.
That's kind of what I'm thinking.
The rings add another element and dimension, but in a more sophisticated way. Without the rings looks more rugged and trail ready.
Definitely run the trim rings.

I haven't been able to install the new axles yet. Also I took off the trim rings because they were squeaky.
I bought a new set of rings from O-O-O-O'Reilly's, but I'm too weak or ignorant on how to install them. It's almost like the clips are arranged on too large of a diameter to fit.

Guys, this is so ignorant but for the life of me I can't figure out what people mean when they say "beauty rings" or "rings" on these wheels. I can google it and see pictures of them, but I can't see them in place on a wheel. Can anyone show an arrow or something for me? I feel like an idiot.
They're referring to the chrome trim rings at the outer perimeter of the wheel. The first quoted pic has them but the second does not.
Dang, I should take a picture of what the trim rings are. I bought a new set of a thinner thickness that really look sharp.
Since my last update, I moved across the country from Denver, Colo. to Portland, Ore. and had the Jimmy hauled on a trailer. It ran fine maybe the first day or 2 commuting to and from work, but the point is it has a miss now.
It sounds like I only have 7, maybe 6, cylinders firing under load, and it idles a smidge rougher as it did in Denver. Checked all the plug wire ends to make sure they were connected. No change.
Then I started swapping out plugs, when I noticed cylinders 6 and 8 were way different from the rest.

Here are the rest. #2 (or possibly #4) was also gunked up slightly.
All the odd numbered plugs looked dry and tan, like you'd hope.

So what's my issue? Stuck rings, burnt valve, shelled out motor?
Do I just need to take it on the highway to blow the cobs out and quit being a scared lil tree hugging hippie?

Is it too much fuel to one side? Like a dual plane intake and the carb isn't right on the side feeding the right bank?
And maybe some valve seals not perfect too?

Put some new plugs in, and take it for a drive?
