The cast number you need is in the area behind the head near the bellhousing. Should be on the passenger side. That will at least tell you about the block.

I've only taken it places near to me in the PNW. Work, bars, burgers, hardware stores. That sort of stuff

Found the block casting number 10066036 and a faint Hecho en Mexico behind the distributor.


What does this 2M1001 stamp mean on the front of the block on the passenger side? I couldn't find anything on it online last night.

Looks like a standard GM Goodwrench 350.

According to Google, it's either

249 HP @ 5,000 RPM
304 Ft/Lbs @ 3,500 RPM

Or

250 HP @4300 rpm
350 ft. lbs of torque @ 3600 rpm

You only get the big numbers with the aluminum intake. The first set of numbers are for the cast iron manifold painted silver.
