I keep trying different methods, but the tack-tack just comes out the best for me on the exhaust. Haven't had leaks or cracks or failure so I figure it works just fine.
Then I cut the pipe apart. On those, the sections I did with the “tack tack” method looked better both inside and outside the pipe. The was also true if the butt seem sections. The overlap sections looked better with the constant bead
